Not sure if this belongs here, it's just some story I made up earlier when I was bored. @god_spawn sorry if this is in the wrong forum. Anyway, here it is:
Story: "Don't Blink"
The room was coated in an inky blackness. But it didn't matter though, he could still see it's unwavering gaze towards him. Two unnaturally dark holes pierced the darkness of the room in his direction, like an inverse lighthouse shining through atmosphere. He would have cried out for help, but it wouldn't have done any good. The only other person in the house was already at the it's feet, bloody and broken with a sickly smell emanating from the heap of destroyed flesh. Five minutes earlier the thing had dragged it in with his entrance and had used one of the torn off limbs to write "Do not blink" on the wall closest to him. Since then he had not moved from his spot and the man had not so much as looked away from the being. But the man knew he would not be able to keep this up, his eyelids were beginning to feel heavy and would soon need to be closed, then the creature would proceed to whatever devilish act he did to the other.
There was one chance to escape this encounter, the man thought to himself. He would need to make it impossible for himself to blink. Without breaking eye contact, he reached his hand into the drawer on the right side of his bed. Once he found the object he desired he quickly yanked it out and unsheathed the blade.Quickly he began to cut away at his eyelids, without them he would beat this beast and be able to escape. The man was halfway through his first eyelid when he dropped the knife. The skin dropped, barring the view in his right eye. However, he noticed as a wicked smile slowly crept to the being's face. The man would not give up though, without breaking his gaze he got out of the bed and retrieved his fallen knife. Once again he began to cut away at the remaining scrap of skin dangling from under his brow. 'One down' he thought to himself as he began to work on the next. After a little bit of cutting he stopped, the blade wasn't able to cut through the layer of skin completely. "No, no, no!" he said aloud. He had come so close he had thought, just a little bit more and he'd be free. He wasn't going to let his chance at safety escape him, he quickly grasped the skin in his hands and forcefully ripped it off. He let out a howl of pain as the left upper side of his face was robbed clean of skin. Along with this, the cord connecting his eye to his brain was also gripped, and was dangling over the lower part of his face, blood gushing forth from his socket.
But it didn't matter now, he had won. There was no chance of losing now, he couldn't blink! The monster would do him no harm! Then he heard it. Soft,child-like laughing. He quickly spun his head around trying to find the source of the noise when he realized it was coming from the creature. In contrast to his grotesque appearance, and his pitch dark eyes, he had a soft, soothing voice the likes of which he had never encountered. For the first time upon taking his position in the room, the creature crept towards him, a wicked smile across his face. In his final seconds, the man could not forget the creatures words. Nor could he forget this feeling of utmost peace due to the being's unnaturally calming voice. Two words and only two words came from the creature during their final moments: "That's cheating."
