Hello! My name is Charlie and I'm a member of staff over at the DC fanfic site known as the DC2 (http://dc2universe.net/). I've been lurking on your boards for a while and have finally bitten the bullet and signed up, and I thought that I would say hello and let you know what I'm about and where I've lurked out from.

The DC2 has been around for over eight years now, producing stories and covers for a variety of stories in a variety of books, and we're always looking for ways to get people interested in a) contributing and b) being part of our community. We're a group of like-minded individuals who love telling stories and who love the characters you love, so I thought it would be cool to extend a salutation and invite you in.

We have familiar titles like Green Lantern (http://dc2universe.net/board/133/green-lantern) and Wonder Woman (http://dc2universe.net/board/330/wonder-woman) posting regularly, along with new takes on classic titles such as Birds of Prey (http://dc2universe.net/board/39/birds-prey) and New Outsiders (http://dc2universe.net/board/330/wonder-woman) that are quintessentially "DC2" and so bloody brilliant and well worth a read. Right now we're undergoing a big relaunch after a year of downtime, and it's been a hell of a good time writing characters that we grew up loving. I was one of the founding members of the site back when I was fifteen ("the DC2 stole my childhood!" would make an accurate tagline if it weren't... so... questionable...) and we've built a great continuity that is always expanding to accommodate new stories and new writers.

Anyway, I don't want to go on, but if you're interested in checking us out feel free to come over and introduce yourself, and if you're wanting to be part of a community that values creativity, come pitch a title!

We're waiting to hear from you!

Cheers,

Charlie

@houseofmystery: To join in the chorus of the above two, links doesn't work...which doesn't inspire me to jump ship and go write for you guys.

@batkevin74: How could you jump ship? I thought you were the captain! Wait a second--who's steering this boat?

Ha, not asking anyone to jump catamaran, but I did want to say that if you wanted another opportunity to share your stories, we're always looking for new talent to join our community. I'll fix those links-- I'm sorry they broke, they worked when I tested them before I posted!-- now, sorry for the inconvenience folks.

Dude I checked out the site last night...hooked!

#10 Posted by houseofmystery (70 posts) - - Show Bio

Thanks dude, lots going on right now, lots of cool opportunities!

Right now I'm stuck on Lamenation. Saw Jason Todd and was like, yes!

#12 Edited by houseofmystery (70 posts) - - Show Bio

@guardiandevil83: Lamentation Day! That is an absolute blast to write. Some classic Justice League versus Secret Society of Super Villain action action ACTION with a really cool twist that I'm chuffed to have been a part of coming up with! #2 is out in January and then the tie-ins start coming... Hellblazer, Suicide Squad and more!

Jason Todd is a character we've gone in a different direction in on the DC2, if you'd like a list of his appearances just send me a message! If you get a chance, please comment on the issue too! Would loved to hear your feedback.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, @batkevin74. I hit my 5 post limit for the day! Hopefully soon I'll have enough to go crazy-- I've not even had a chance to post my work yet! There are plans for a bi-monthly Gotham Central title in 2014, but if you're interested you could get onboard and contribute to it, maybe even help make it a monthly! Metropolis PD is completely free if you're wanting, and the Superman books are about to go through a little revamp (Action Comics is coming back soon and Adventure Comics is due in 2014 too) so you could get in on the ground floor of that!
