Hello everyone, and welcome to DC Re-Created! This is a brand new Fan-Fiction group created by @maccyd, @themanintheshoe, and myself, where you get to Re-Create anything you want about all your favorite DC characters! At the time of this post, we already have the first issues of 3 series up-- Batman #1, Superman #1, and The Flash #1! In addition, you can check out our DCRC library and our DCRC Character List.
Rules:
1: Re-Creation
We're a lot less strict about how much you change the characters than the previous DC Re-Invented (And DC Re-Imagined, before that). As a writer for DCRC, you have complete creative freedom over your characters. For example, if you were writing Batman for example, you could make it so Bruce's parents were shot, but he was cursed by a mystical Bat-demon and turned into a living shadow later on. Or you can make him just the way he is today, but Re-Create his villains, supporting characters, etc. It's up to you! Just don't go overboard with canon continuity and story arcs. We're creating our own universe, not creating our own stories for N52 or Pre-52.
2: Continuity/Characters in Multiple Series
Characters can appear in any number of series, and even have multiple series based solely around one them. However, if you want to have a character that's already being written appear in your series, you're going to have to talk with the other writer in either our DCRC Writer Discussion PM or your own, separate PM to ask for permission and how your story can fit into continuity. Continuity does matter. For example, if Aquaman was in Atlantis during the time your pitched story about Green Lantern with an Aquaman cameo takes place, it'd not be allowed. There's several ways to bypass this (have it be set a month or so in the past, have the problem be resolved the next issue, etc.), but keep it in mind if you're writing for DCRC.
3: Original Characters Are Allowed
While titles should be focusing around established DC characters or teams, Original Characters are completely allowed.
4: Titles Per Person
DCRC writers are allowed to have as many titles as they want, as long as their titles are regularly. We don't want months of waiting between issues because a writer has too many titles.
Library and Character List
The DCRC Library and the DCRC Character List are both up. If you join DCRC, it's necessary to contact me, @maccyd or @themanintheshoe before you post a new issue so we can add it to the library. You'll also have to tell us each character in use so we can add it to the Character List.
