Birds of a Feather….(1 of 2)
CADMUS Facility (Location: Classified, 23:42 PM, January 5, 2015)-
Amanda Waller is standing at the head of a control room. A frustrated look is painted across her face. She is staring a large monitor hanging from the wall. A intel mission she swore should have gone well has gone bad in an instant. Waller had gotten word that there was an terrorist group planning some kind of uprising. Amanda wanted to know what they were going to be up against so she sent a squad to a remote island in the Caribbean Sea. Bad idea on her part. The screen shows the landscape of a very large facility. It is lit up with little red dots, except for two yellow dots. The control room is also filled with many people sitting at computers practically tipping till their fingers fall off. One of them happens to be Felicity Smoak. She is trying to avert her eyes from the angry black woman yelling at the back of the room, but the woman scared the living sh!t out of her. Still she had a job to do. Keep the communications from being jammed by this unknown organization while the black-ops agents went in. A small group stands just in front of a holo-table with the exact layout of the facility. Six agents went in and there are only two left.
"For God's sake hurry up with that escape plan!" Waller's tone got more angered. All she wanted now was good news. "Agent Blake, how far out are?"
"Was four miles but getting closer by the second." A woman platinum blonde and clad in black, is flying the invisible jet. Her eyes are laser focused on that facility. A good friend of her's is in there and she plans on getting her out no matter the cost.
"Get there faster, Godd@mnit!!!" Everyone in the room just got a little more tense. Felicity almost fell out of her seat at that moment.
Two woman are swiftly running down the hallway of the facility. One of the is Kate Spencer. Tall, jet black hair, and clad in red. She had been a CADMUS agent for years now but hasn't really found herself in this kind of situation. The other woman being, Evelyn Crawford. Brunette, fringe, clad in black and purple. She hasn't been at it as long as Kate but she has never been in this kind of situation. Both are toting guns and constantly checking behind them. Suddenly a small group of soldiers have found them. Kate doesn't let that stop her. She is quick to shot a guard, drop her gun and lunge at another. Taking out a retractible bo-staff delivering several blows to him. Evelyn is quick to shot down three of them down with ease. Both have dropped plenty of bodies in their day so this was nothing to them. Kate is about to finish the last one before Evelyn shots him in the head.
"Nice work, Starling." Kate puts her staff away and picks up one of the soldiers machine guns. "Blake, listen. Give us five more minutes to get out and if not then--"
"Shut the hell up, Manhunter." Agent Blake interrupts. "Homebase, I feel like this would be a great time for you to give our ladies some insight!"
"Working on it, Agent Blake!" A man yells into the headset. "Manhunter get to the staircase down the hall to your left."
Both Woman manage to get that far but come to find no staircase but another group of soldiers. They start to shot at the enemy while making it down another hall.
"What the @!#& there was no #$%&ing staircase!!!" Evelyn shouts.
The group around the holo-table now have baffled looks on their faces. Felicity takes her eyes off her job and looks around the room. Everyone was looking for plausible solutions on what is going wrong but no one had gotten anything. Her gaze is then fixed on the screen. The layout was obviously wrong. Something pops into mind. She then runs the probability of how much Frank, who is her superior, would be p!ssed off and get her fired. And she knew Roy Harper wouldn't be able to come to her rescue this time. "Oh good God this is so stupid." She quietly mutters. Still she brings up the system for the facility. She is quick to break down the firewalls they had up. Quickly sifting through the system before the enemy blocks her out, brings up the layout they have. Defiantly not the same. She looks over her shoulder and the few people who who were recurring characters in her nightmares. But she still couldn't let the two agents get hurt or worse. She uploads the new layout on the monitor and the holo-table. This brings up a large amount of chatter with in the room. Felicity knew that they would get the job done before they had found out and put her head on a silver platter.
"Shut your mouths and keep going!!!"
Everyone focuses back on their work.
"Manhunter, Starling get to the top of the hanger, Agent Blake can get you from there. Go down the hall, make two right, and it should be there. Get to ground level and try to keep low cover." Franks says into the speaker.
Kate and Evelyn make it to the staircase. They fly down the stairs. They hear clatter above them letting them know they need to move faster. They make is to ground floor and sprint toward the hanger. Kate and Evelyn shot at the following soldiers taking out some of them out. They enter the hanger and are met with a large number of soldiers. Evelyn takes out a sonic device and activates it. The soldiers fall to their knees, covering their ears. Evelyn starts to makes her way up a latter. Kate is giving them some cover fire. Evelyn then begins tossing mini-explosives giving Kate time to catch-up.
"Shoot them down!!!" A man in a modified uniform barks at his soldiers. Suddenly shots out of nowhere start taking down several men in the hanger. Many of them are ducking for cover shooting randomly in the air. Both Kate and Evelyn have made it to the top of the hanger. Agent Blake's plane become visible for a moment and the cargo door opens. The two quickly run in and get to the cockpit.
"Get us out of here, Z!" Kate shouts as she takes the seat next to her friend.
Agent Blake quickly turns the plane invisible again and pilots the plane away from the facility. But stop the plane to turn it around.
"Making sure we don't have any tailgaters on the way home." She presses a red button on the control. Rockets burst from the jet and set the hanger in flames. "Sons of b%tches." Blake turns the plane around and continues away from the island. "Buckle up ladies it's gonna be a long ride. Homebase we're coming home."
Everyone in the control room was relieved. Amanda quietly takes Frank and his group into the hallway for a private conversation. She doesn't look satisfied or angry. Felicity constantly looks over shoulder, constantly chewing on the cap of her pen. A bad habit she has been trying to break. But in her current situation she was worried she just sentenced herself to Bell Reve.

Amanda was sitting in a large office, full of filling cabinets, and is very dark tone to it. Kate and Evelyn are sitting in the room with her. Both are now wearing casual attire and have little cuts and bruises. Kate looks professional as always and is sitting up straight. Evelyn is quite the opposite. She is slouching, arms crossed, and one of her legs is wrapped over an arm rest. Both are very tired and just want to return to their apartments, but Kate doesn't show it. Amanda finishes the paperwork she has in front of her and then turns the women.
"So ladies, give me the details." Amanda says hushed.
"Four casualties." Kate's voice is soft yet a little shaky. "We split up. Baxter and Johnson, went check on their weapon supply. Davis and Miller, to find their data room. Me and Crawford, went to find the trade off that we heard was happening with the faulty intel we got---"
"And then everything went to sh!t!" Evelyn interrupts. "They were waiting for us and then they launched their attack. The others really didn't stand a chance…" She head shifts to the floor. Her anger turns to sadness.
"They're well armed, well funded," Kate says. "They have eyes everywhere, they know about us, and they want to get rid of us. Clearly tonight was a message."
"And what would that be, Agent Spencer?" Waller tilts her head.
"Back off. Or there will be more blood."

Felicity is walking down a long hallway. Her shift is over and has coat and purse ready to leave. Clearly no one had figured out that Felicity interfered with the mission yet, so she thought she was at least in the clear for another day. It had been a long stressful day and she was ready to go home.
"Felicity!!!"
She jumps and quickly turns around. A blonde girl in a lab coat is quickly trying to catch up to her. It's just her friend, Serling Roquette. They've known each other since college and it seemed like destiny whenever they both got jobs for CADMUS.
"Heard about that crisis that happened earlier." Serling says with concern. "Everything ok? I've heard a bunch of different stuff, but I figured that you'd know what actually happened."
"Oh yeah, yeah….actually no it's not…well..." Felicity struggles to keep a sentence together. "You know what I'll just tell you when you get home, I'm super tired."
"Yeah, Doctor Knox wants to run more genetic tests, so I better get back." She starts to walk away. "Hope you feel better."
Felicity waves goodbye and continues to walk away. As soon as she gets to the exit door, a hand grabs her on the shoulder. She turns to see a tall muscular man with long red hair is standing there. His face is expressionless and his dark sunglasses hide his eyes.
"Miss Smoak, please come with me." He says with a thick russian accent.
Felicity's heart skipped a beat. "A-am I in trouble?"
"Just come with me, Miss Smoak."
He takes Felicity down several hallways and to the elevator. Felicity was contemplating just making a run for it right then and there. They enter the elevator and Felicity notices that they are going to the top floor of the building.
"So….do you like Russia?" She asks trying to break the tension. All she gets is his icy stare. They finally get to the top floor of the elevator. As they are walking out, to two women walk in. Felicity notices their cuts and brushes and then exchanges a look with the brunette woman.
"Wait a minute are those the girls who…"
The man opens the door to letting Felicity in the room. She steps in and her jaw drops to the floor. Amanda Waller is sitting there, with her fingers intertwined, just waiting.
"Take a seat, Miss Smoak."
