@guttridgeb: The techs would have to solve it.

@RazzaTazz: Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I was referring to the "character appearances option" you mentioned :)

#653 Posted by RazzaTazz (9589 posts) - - Show Bio

@guttridgeb: Oh under the issues at the top there are series which the characters appeared in. Under that should be a link for appearances. You can sort that way as well. Just a bit more complicated.

@RazzaTazz: Oh, I see what you mean. I'm being a bit slow today :P

Have an easy way for regular people to make their own podcasts. Also comic vine NEEDs to have PMs where the messages pop up and you don't need to restore the page!

I'm not a huge fan post interface. If it was more similar to something like vB I'd like that better.

And there needs to be a way for members to change the name of their own threads, and to change the cover picture of a wiki entry.

@Mediumflyer7: The PM system is based off of a OS that CV incorporated into its greater whole. It is pretty effective for what we use it for. It would be nice to have automatic updates, I am not sure if it is in the interest of the techs to do so when there are other things that need fixing.

This is possible. There is a thread in the E&T forum

@RazzaTazz: Asking for it to be changed in a thread isn't the same as being able to change it :V

#659 Posted by pikahyper (11871 posts) - - Show Bio

@Teerack: you would be able to for everything but covers if you had more points, we have to protect the wiki and there is no reason to allow regular users to delete covers as they do not change and very few actually do cover replacements.

@pikahyper: Wait, you mean your lvl actually has a purpose? :o What lvl do I need to be?

#661 Posted by pikahyper (11871 posts) - - Show Bio

@Teerack: different abilities get unlocked when you reach certain point levels, when you hit 1000 you get unmoderated edits of existing pages and once you hit 5000 you get full live edit and you can change default pictures for all page types except issues. You can also rename volumes once you get 1000. Renaming any other pages can only be done by a moderator, same goes for deleting pages and covers hence why we have threads for requests.

@pikahyper: Where do you check your point levels?

#663 Posted by pikahyper (11871 posts) - - Show Bio

@Teerack: on your profile, you have 2 points.

@Teerack: Not those levels, above 10k in the wiki allows you to change pictures. Pika failed to mention that only mods can change names.

@RazzaTazz: I did in fact say that renaming can only be done by mods except for volume titles at the top of this page.

No, like pika said, it's 5000, not 10k.

Also people need to have some sort of a crasher course on what a "Cyborg" is. Fed up of characters with a artificial limb or some form of an armored suit with their character type listed as "Cyborg".

Sortable categories in your blog.

Would be nice to add a field for the comics date to the add new issue and volume. See a lot of issues that get added (mosty foreign) but the date never gets updated. Leading to my next issue of comics with no date getting priority on recent issues over those with. Maybe something that can be done with the new site to put issues with no date at the end or use the volumes date for sorting puposes. Finally would be nice to have a mass add feature, for example I find a volume with no writer, but the same one did all the issues, would be nice to add to multiple than one at a time.

How hard would it to be able to make a list of threads like we make lists of everything else? (by the way would also be useful for moderating.).

On issue wiki pages it would be nice to have a "Plot summary" portion and a notes portion for the other information about the issues that is not relevant to the plot.

I go ahead and make a notes section if I feel it is necessary to explain mistakes in the issue or if special things are included with the comic (like trading cards). Is that what you are thinking of?

@Renchamp: Yes the problem with that is that the notes show up in the synopses for story arcs.

Just a small thing but perhaps something saying MM/DD/YYYY above or below the release date on issues when editing. This would be a helpful reminder for anyone who doesn't live in a country where that system is used - like myself.
