Should this page and this one be combined since Jason Todd is listed as the real name of both? I looked over Jason Todd's page and didn't see any mention of him being Wingman. Also, should Jason Todd's picture be updated to Wingman since that is who he is currently or is that just another version of Todd?
Troubleshooting the Wiki (all new editors read this first please)
Also, why does a wiki task thing show up on Superman's page?
@Xanni15: Those are often placeholders for people to come along later to edit. There are two sides of the wiki after all, the issues and everything else. The wiki is so good because it is built off of both. But if an editor that primarily does issues spots something, it is better to have a record than none at all.
@razzatazz: Is there a page to put issues that need issue summaries added?
@xxxddd: The Poet has a thread for that in the E&T forum
Is it this?
@pikahyper: I'll PM you of issues that need plot summaries.
@pikahyper: Thank you
I'm having problems with the editing of my images (both with Chrome and with IE), doesn't appear the "save" button but only the "remove" one, so can't save the editing (like moving the images in a new gallery)...
@marcovaldo: this is a known bug and it is being worked on, hopefully it will be fixed early next week.
I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this question, but maybe someone can help me.
Yesterday I got Captain America: Wintersoldat and wanted to add it to my "Comics that I own" list, but I can't find it here on CV. I tried to search for "Die offizielle Marvel-Comic-Sammlung" because it is #44 of it, but nothing.
I have no problem with just adding a new Volume to the Wiki, but I'm not sure if I just didn't search good enough to find it and don't want to add a dupe just because I couldn't find the Volume.
@emh_bruce: to my knowledge that series has never been added so go ahead just so long as you get a better cover image to use :P
@pikahyper: Ah~ good to know, then I'll add it. Don't worry, I'll scan all the covers I use for the wiki, I just used here the photo which I took for the Comic collection thread ;)
@emh_bruce: sounds good.
@pikahyper: As an additional question, I know we shouldn't post pictures into Volume summaries, but should it be added, that the spines show a picture by Gabriele Dell'Otto?
@emh_bruce: that would be fine, it's been done before.
@pikahyper: I have another question to that volume, better the volume thumbnail. The "Die offizielle Marvel-Comic-Sammlung" TPBs aren't released like normal ( #1, #2, #3, etc) but chronological. So the first Issue to be released was Spider-Man: Heimkehr (Spider-Man: Coming Home) BUT this isn't #1, it's Issue #21. Same goes for the Captain America: Wintersoldat Issue, it was the 21st TPB to be released, but bears the Issue number #44.
Now I'm not sure what I should do, because I think the Issue with the real #1 on the back wasn't released yet.
@emh_bruce: which number does the publisher advertise?
@pikahyper: I looked here for the numbering. Also on the homepage of Panini you get this
It IS number one, but has the Issue number #21
@emh_bruce: which number does it use in the indicia?
@pikahyper: sadly no number at all
they only state what's inside, which is here The Amazing Spider-Man #30-35
@emh_bruce: blegh ok for the issue numbers use the publishers chronological by release date number so Heimkehr as #1 and in the issue title put the volume number from the spine so again Heimkehr would be Volume 21. Then in the volume description just explain that you are using the publishers chronological numbering but that the series is released out of actual order and that the actual volume numbers are in the issue name field.
@pikahyper: Okay.
done.
@emh_bruce: if that text you added is the solicit it needs to be in italics.
@pikahyper: which text do you mean, this one?
This volume is published out of order, so the numbering will follow the release date, the actual issue number will be found in the name field.
I just rephrased what you said. (that the comics aren't published in the right order isn't stated in the solicit, only on the homepage of www.zeit-fuer-superhelden.de )
@emh_bruce: no the issue text, the descriptive blurb.
@pikahyper: that was the summary text on the back of the comic.
@emh_bruce: official stuff like that needs to be in italics.
@pikahyper: done.
(why did CV just delete my text o_o°)
@emh_bruce: if you mean deleted here it is a bug that is being worked on.
@pikahyper: yes, here. But good to know, I always think it's my pc messing up.
@emh_bruce: nope it's just a bug, happens from time to time.
I've got a question. I think I did something wrong. I'm kinda new so sorry if I did make a mistake. I read through this (and a couple of other) posts but couldn't find out what to do about the problem.
I've been adding issues of Tales of Jerry, now the first two issues were published/produced by Karma Komix Productions, but the 7 after that by Hacienda International.
I added all the issues, thinking I would be able to change the publisher later, but I can't.
What can I do to change it and what is the policy of dealing with a series that changes publishers in the middle of the run?
@youmika: you can change the publisher, just edit the volume page and click the little x next to Karma Komix Productions and then you can add the other publisher and for volumes with multiple publishers just add the following to the volume description:
Publishers
- Karma Komix Production
- Hacienda International
whichever one isn't the current publisher is also made a link and the header is an h4.
Also please don't repeat the volume title or volume title + issue number in the issue name field, it is redundant.
@pikahyper I've added the following to the volume description:
Publishers
- Karma Komix Production (issue 1-2)
- Hacienda International (issue 3-10)
**Issue 10 is a bit elusive, I've finally found it to make my set complete so will update as soon as it arrives in my letterbox**
Thank you for advising me also on the issue name field. Will keep an eye on it and go back to some things I've already done to make sure I haven't repeated that mistake anywhere else.
I have one more question: I've found a lot of logo's for the publisher pages, but I can't find where I can put them up so they'll be at the head of the publisher page. I read somewhere that I'd be able to change them once I reached 5000 wikipoints but I don't see anything being different than before. Has that rule changed or should I be looking somewhere else for that?
