Main Picture Changing Thread

I have some publisher logo's that already exist on the website but they're without background (i.e. they have a white background instead of being taken off the front page of a comic book) and/or are of better quality. Is it ok if I put them up and ask you to change them or would you rather leave the old one on? I don't want to step on anyone's toes or look like a point hoarder when doing this.

@youmika: not sure what you mean by background, you mean you want to add them as the default image in the top left corner of the page? and are you saying you want to replace default logo images with covers?

No I mean if the default logo's are now taken from comic cover photos (with pieces/colors of cover in the bg) Then it would be ok to change them for a clean one (ie without any pieces of cover in the bg).

Judge DeMarco hasn't been a Judge for like 14 years, and she has her own series as a Private Investigator now.

Stupid stupid stupid and I knew it as soon as I pressed the button that i'd forgotten to add the photo to the volume.

Now, my thinking on this is thus.

Neither picture is without flaws, the one up at the moment I feel is drawn in an odd posture, and the one I want to replace it with is a little low colour in appearance, but I've searched through literally every issue featuring the character and it has to be between these.

So why do I feel it should be replaced?

Basically I don't feel that the picture used at the moment represents the character very well at all, I think it makes the Judge Child look like a peaceful Buddhist Monk. I've asked some friends what they thought the character was like based on the picture and they guessed essentially the same thing "some kind of young monk".

The Judge Child is a malevolent Psychic who grew up in a wasteland, I think the second picture shows that better. I also don't remember ever seeing him wear robes like that in any of the major stories, its always more like a sheet flung over one shoulder.

Reasons -

Current picture is

• Extremely low resolution
• Doesn't focus well on the character in question
• Is Landscape
• is drawn a little out of proportion

Also I would say that it might be an idea to rename the two Judge Giants as "Jr" and "Sr" to avoid confusion.

Not sure of the protocol on this one, this week Harley Quinn #1 - Hot in the City comes out, but there was already the #0 issue, so should the volume's thumbnail get changed to the #1 issue or stay as is with the 0?

@wundagoreborn: Your images have to be moderated and that image isn't good enough to be a default pic, it shouldn't have any text in it and that warp makes it look like a bad table top scan or a camera shot.

I don't know if this is a bug or what, but I just added some photos to Stephanie Brown's page, and went out of my way not to click "make default," but it made it the default image twice now, regardless, as soon as I clicked save edits. So it'd probably be best if her main image got turned back to the one all the way to the left, on the sixth row down.

Let's talk about the Juggernaut. When a new person is using the wiki and they go to the Juggernaut's page they should see a picture of what the Juggernaut is supposed to look like.... not "some guy" with an annoying sun glare. It's sad that any other site would have it right but not here. One of the worst excuses for bad defaults is that it needs to be a "recent" image as well. If the look is the same I value a better image than a newer one.

Can someone make a good argument why this should be Juggernauts main image? This is not Juggernaut. It's Cain Marko and an incredibly annoying sun glare. I'm sorry but to me it's just an embarrassment to see things like this. This other image is a thousand times better as a representation of Juggernaut.

@irishx: funnily enough that's me even though i am in complete agreement with you. juggernaut is one of my favorite characters but it is the dumb mentality of the stupid rules here that images must be "current" and sadly juggernaut's been de-powered for over 2 years now (since the collosonaut mess) and dumb marvel never bothered giving him his powers back. it's the same argument that iron man's image should represent his majority look, i.e. a red and gold armor, but apparently that's "wrong" so i don't bother contesting it. rules in general seem to just say "ignore majority, go for current" on terms of name and everything. like the old ms. marvel page name debate. what i do contest is the morons who set an image of a crap cropped image of a character running on a treadmill as the main which doesn't in any way reflect the character's powers or anything at all it's just from "the last issue she was in".

the reason i keep setting that as juggernaut's image is because it is miles and beyond what someone else will probably come along and go "durr he's not juggernaut anymores" and then set something like this as his main.

For some reason, every time I try to add a picture to any gallery it doesn't work. The odd thing is that it has worked in the past.

And this was the only picture I could get of the character.

@martianmanhunterisbetterthancy: if you can find it any bigger you can crop out the text.
