I have none. Please tell how I can get some points.
How to get wiki points?
@Goku1fan: You make constructive edits to the wiki. Why don't you check out the Wiki Style Guide?
@Goku1fan: The wiki is the compilation of all the encyclopedic articles on the site. So if you type 'Batman' into the search function, Batman's page is part of the wiki.
@Goku1fan: the wiki is all the pages listed on comic vine (character pages, issues, series, teams, etc.).
I can give you a link to my series of lists which you can look over if you want some wiki points: The Poet's Wiki Editoral Lists (submit pages & get points here)
@Goku1fan: Well first you find a page that needs some fixing up (ex: it has some spelling errors). at the top of the screen will be the word "edit". Click on that buttion. You should be able to fix the spelling error or whatever it is that way. Then press save.
Someone like icarus will have to approve that edit and then you get your wiki points.
Can't believe someone would ask this...well yes I can, but I found this to be rather obvious when I first joined...

o.o am I only one that gets scared by these types of threads?
meh, a new user with less than 1000 points, doubtful that anything would happen.

@The Poet: @Billy Batson: Every time I see these kinds of threads/posts I just feel like someone is jabbing a badger with a stick and setting it free in a preschool, any one of these users could become the next Mike20 -.- Also unnerves me that people with a high post count have no idea about the wiki, it is an integral part of the site and people talk about it everywhere, just doesn't make sense not to know anything about it or at least have a friend on here to ask about it in a PM.
@pikahyper: Don't speak his name...he might come back!
we all joined the site for different reasons (I know several people who just joined for the battles...) However, I do see your point.
of course not every user will become Mike20 (or even The Doctor). We can't really be sure what kind of editor some users will become at this stage in the game. I must say I wasn't the best editor back then (I'm still finding some pages with errors which I know I added to the site...). Thats why I always like to stir people in the right direction with my editing lists (fun and easy! sorry...like to promote them any point I can...)
the easiest way to get wiki points is:
edit page->ctrl+a+c+v->save
and if the page is empty you should copy it from another site and submit its content here

What's a VictoriaGrey2010?
the top editor of the lucifer page.
BBOk, what did she do to acquire notoriety?
IIRC, just copypasted the stuff what already was there and submitted it on several pages.

It was more then that, pretty sure it was a lot of plagiarizing leading to massive top editor point totals of like 50k+ on multiple pages.
@comicshistory: they are used for absolutely nothing other then ranking the editors but viewing the ranking system is currently disabled for performance issues.
Ok, I am new here, and I understand how to get Wiki Points, but what are the points used for?
You give a portion of your soul to G-Man. He judges how worthy your soul is and in return he gives you Wiki points.

Sorry to add to the Noobishness, but I've just signed up and don't know anyone yet, or how to adequately navigate the forums. But its all ok if I find some spelling mistakes on a page to just go ahead and edit/correct them?
I've been using this site as a resource for ages- just never got around to signing up, and occasionally would swear at a typo. Being able to help tidy up sounds cool.
@cave_duck: That's exactly what we want done. Please note, though, that italicized stuff is directly from the publisher and should not be edited, even if there is a mistake. Also note, editing is highly addictive. Proceed with extreme caution.
Wow, two years and still learning, I knew it was publisher blurb but had no idea about not correcting it :)
Gonna second that addiction warning too O_O
@bumpyboo: correcting it would make it no longer official ;)
it is ok to fix occasionally though but only in instances where a website itself messed up the actual solicit, for example some sites change ... to ? cause they can't output ellipsis properly, sometimes if a blurb starts in plain text and changes to italics or bold the space inbetween the two types will get dropped (Dark Horse's site does this a lot), occasionally sites will add quotes around blurbs so that will change inner quotes to either double quotes (""example"") or single quotes ('example'), and then other sites have trouble with accented letters so changing the ? to ... or adding the space back in or replacing quotes or replacing a non-accented character for the accented character is just fixing a glitch.
