If a character appears in a preview issue does that count as his first appearance? or does it have to be in a full size comic?

dark horse had a preview that had details about the characters in a new book & had bits of the comic in it. the first full issue was released the next month. which would count as the first appearance #0 or #1 ?

I don't think preview issues count, but maybe that's me.

For "First Appearance" I usually find out what other websites have to say and use that as my standard. :)

I think it's fine to use the preview issue as the first appearance as long as the character does something in there.
