Adding Actors/Actresses to the Wiki

If you haven't noticed, there is now a section on the movies page to add actors. Actors and actresses can be added the same way you would add a comic creator to the site. This post will act as a guideline to this function.

Who Should I Add?

Only add actors and actresses that have appeared in movies added to the site. In case you didn't know, the only movies that should be added to site are comic related or have had many comics based on the movie AND have a character page for a character appearing in the film.

Format

Biography (H2 Heading)

Supply a short biography including birth, beginning of acting career and major roles and awards (do not have to be comic related). Again, this should be brief. We don't need a complete biography.

Acting Style (H2 Heading) (Optional)

Put this in there if you like. Some examples could be character actor or leading role. This is an optional section though

Comic Related Roles (H2 Heading)

Under this section, include any roles with the character name in H3 heading, followed by some information on the movie, fan reactions (not your opinion), any awards received or any quotes or input that the actor has had on playing the role.

Character differences from the comics and movie plots SHOULD NOT be included. This information should be on the character pages. Make this info ACTOR specific, not character specific.

Awards (H2 Heading) (Optional)

Put in awards or other accolades that they received for their roles in comic book related movies, preferably in a table format.

Images

Include a main image of the actor, not as the character. You can include images of them in character in the gallery. Try to use images already uploaded to the site if possible.

Have Fun

There are literally hundreds of actors, actresses and voice actors that need to be added. Have fun with it and remember the golden rules: Search to make sure you aren't creating a duplicate, No plagiarism/paraphrasing, and no point spamming.

I just noticed we have to add writers, directors, distributors, etc now too. Hope CV has some eager beavers out there.

Here is another example to include other comic related roles, although they are not movies added to the site, they can still be mentioned on the page.

@jloneblackheart:Are they connect to the movies via their page somehow? I know comics show up when you add a character, but they're not in comics, obviously.

@xanni15: No. It might just be an oversight because of the new feature. I've brought it up in the mod forum, so hopefully it's something the programmers can easily do.

@xanni15: Oh wow! I didn't even notice those options. We haven't actually been given any direction, this is just something a couple of mods wanted to post to get a good standard going. It looks like you can add writers, directors & producers in the same manner, as well as studios and distributors as publishers.

@wmwadeii: I did read your post, it just didn't register. I thought you were referring to the fields on the side to write in the info for some reason, like we had before. It didn't click until someone asked to add a director and I did some actual investigating. ;P

So keep it mostly to comic book material on their pages?

And I almost picked RDJ's mugshot as his main picture, decided against it. lol

Would "acting style" pertain to what kind of roles an actor usually plays? For example: Christopher Lee usually plays villains.

I noticed this same thing in films with lots of actors, and since the ones you add first tend to be the most famous, naturally, they are the ones that end up hidden O_o
