Why did Dick became Batman in this new universe?

Is it only because so that Bruce could go around the world and recruit heroes to Batman inc?

And a other question. Is he even a good leader in this universe?Because of what I understand is that this is the first Justice league and Teen Titans that has been create in this universe, and he is not in none of them. So he has not have a chance to lead a group of people. Only Damian as Robin.

They really ought to explain it, but they haven't yet. The new canon blows chunks.

Yeah there are tons of holes that need to be filled in. I'll say it again, I don't think they needed to do a reboot, but they should've gone all the way and rebooted everything and not tried to half-ass it with Batman and GL.

I assume though that Bruce was still MIA for a year or so.
