DC Releases Full CONVERGENCE Promo Image

Earlier this week, DC Comics announced the two-month long event, CONVERGENCE. It will be an 8-part series and 40 brand-new 2-part miniseries while the main books go on hiatus. The story deals with Brainiac having trapped cities from various timelines and planets that have ended. He plans on conducting an experiment and has brought the different cities to a planet outside of time and space in order to discover what happens when all the inhabitants meet.

An image was released with the announcement but now DC has released an even bigger image on their blog.

CONVERGENCE begins on April 1, 2015.

You really think Marvel's sketchy multiversal, wonky timeline event is going to be any better than DC's sketchy multiversal, wonky timeline event? Actually...yeah it probably will be. Either way I'm sitting 'em both out. I am a little curious who the creative teams will be for these 2 part minis.

It's just reassuring that, in some way, it looks like the pre-New 52 and Wildstorm 'verses are still out there somewhere.

I'm sorry if this offends but it is comments like this that are absolutely unnecessary. This is an article about DC from G-Man with the question "How many faces do you recognize in the picture?" not do you think the Marvel Events next year are going to beat DC or not. If Marvel did in fact "Destroy DC" as you might wish then that would also mean a timely demise for Marvel as well. Be happy for great competition and let everyone enjoy what they like instead of disparaging everything that isn't your favorite.

As for G-Man's questions I am quite happy to see Mary Marvel and not one but two Questions! Also I can't decide if that very top left picture with Question (Renee), Flash, Batgirl etc is meant to be Injustice: Gods Among Us or not?

There's a lot of multiverse stuff going on at the same time between Marvel and DC. It's cool and all, but it's starting to feel like a bit much overall.

Hm. So far I've seen Red Son, Superboy and the LOSH, Future's End OMAC Earth, Post-Crisis 90s DC, Crime Syndicate Earth, Kamandi's future, and a few others.

Grant Morrison said that one of the reasons he wrote Multiversity is that there is too much temptation to create alternate universe versions of a character just to kill them off. All I hope is DC does not do that but they probably will.

Really? Check out the comments for Secret Wars. Events tend to be the easiest to pick on when you're against a certain publisher due to how public they are.

But i wonder if people realize that both of these events is the exact same but just slight difference

@bigggheadtj: The only similarity so far is that multiple realities are meeting each other. That's like saying Murder She Wrote, Poirot and Sherlock are the exact same, though they're written very differently.

He's not scripting it, but he's plotting it.

Edit: the script is being done by a comics newcomer, aka someone with no vision that DC editorial can manhandle.
