Ever since DC and Warner Bros. announced a Batman vs. Superman movie, we've all wondered how they'd handle constructing this cinematic universe. Marvel Studios has a big lead on them, but that's by no means stopping them from bringing their big two front and center and then following-up with a Justice League movie. But what else do they have planned? According to Nikki Finke, they're going to make some HUGE announcements at Comic-Con. Her sources say "a lot of stuff remains in flux" but this is what DC's future on the big screen apparently looks like.

May 2016 – Batman v Superman

July 2016 – Shazam

Xmas 2016 – Sandman

May 2017 – Justice League

July 2017 – Wonder Woman

Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up

May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

If that turns out to be true, 2017 is going to be pretty exciting! Additionally, her sources say that Metal Men and Suicide Squad had potential for 2016 but those projects didn't stick. As for why Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was delayed, Finke says it's because they're going to fill the movie with cameos in order to help prepare for Justice League.

“Like Marvel’s The Avengers, there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months. Seemingly simple reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge.”

Anyway this looks pretty solid. But improbable.

Very cool if it's true. It's going to be super hero overkill those years with Disney's 2 movies, an X-Men movie or two, a Spider related movie or two, and now 3 DC movies. I'm pumped as a fan, but I wonder if the general audience will still be excited then. I hope so because it's a great time to be a comic fan, and I hope they keep pumping the movies out.

Why is it taking them so long to put out Wonder Woman? That's a really long time.

That would be extremely cool for the most part, but I think it would be better if GL or Flash got solo movies before they got a team-up movie.

EDIT: I'd also be disappointed if we didn't get a solo Batman film until past 2018...

Sounds like crap to me. Nikki Finke (there's an E) isn't known to be very reliable at all. THAT SAID, on the off chance this is true, I don't know whether to be happy or disappointed about Flash being teamed up with GL in his movie. He does play particularly well off other heroes.

Forgive me, I'm pretty picky about this shit. This forum in particular people post a lot of things left and write from shoddy sources with no credibility (like the WW is a Kryptonian thing lol). Though the staff has been excellent in general so kudos.

It's really not. She'll be in the Batman v Superman movie as a cameo then a JL movie the following year and then her own movie 2 months after.

The more this cast keeps ballooning the more worried I get. I was actually kind of excited to see Aflec play Batman.

Now, this is seeming less like BATMAN V. SUPERMAN, and more the JUSTICE LEAGUE movie. That's just way too many characters for one film.

What's VERY interesting (if true) is that there's no Batman until at least 2018. It's nice to see they allegedly want to focus on giving their other properties more attention.

I'm pretty bummed to hear about a Suicide Squad movie getting shoved aside. But I like the idea of a GL/Flash team up.

A single movie isn't enough for Sandman. He needs a trilogy at least.

I personally don't think Sandman needs to be in the same continuity as the JL either.

I think I might like it more if they let HBO do a TV series for it. But its such an amazing story that needs to be told in some way to a grander audience.

the Flash GL team up movie is very interesting. We'll find out if they'll use the same Flash from the tv show and if so, why now use Green arrow as well?

@rulerofthisuniverse: If they bring in the TV Flash (I'm fifty fifty on whether or not that will actually happen) then they can skip the origin for him, and Green Lantern had a solo movie not too long ago, so he doesn't really need another (quality aside). I'd say a team up movie is a great way to do the characters. If they go with kind of a goofball Barry (which seems to be the case with the show) and a super serious John Stewart, they'll play off of each other well.

I can't imagine Shazam coming out that soon. And why is Sandman on the list? I get that he is a DC (Vertigo) property, but he's not apart of the Cinematic universe (or shouldn't be if he is). Weird.

@bsaa: WB have said they've been thinking about a Metal Men movie, you could easily tie Cyborg into that. Or combine story elements from some of is pre 52 history and New 52 material to make a movie. Besides, Scott Lang has never had a comic, not even a mini series, and he's getting a film.

Sandman is mostly an anthology series. If they ever make a Sandman movie, they should just write an original screenplay, preferably by Gaiman himself.

I don't believe they would make that many movies and not have one of them be a Batman centric movie.

@kennyshat: I really doubt they'll bring in the TV Flash. He's too big a franchise to be pushed aside to a show when WB could easily just make a film and get tons of money off it. There's also various continuity problems with that, such as why no one in Arrow mentioned a major city (Metropolis) getting blown up and the world being attacked, very publicly, by superpowered aliens. But if they did decide to use the TV version, it would write off a major chunk of the audience who don't watch the show, and it would mean that Arrow is canon in the movie universe--so Ra's Al Ghul, Deathstroke, and many other characters would be basically unusable in the movies. In short--not going to happen.

I also doubt that John Stewart will be used as the main Green Lantern in the DCCU. If he was, it would ruin your point that he does not need to be introduced due to the recent 2011 Green Lantern film...which John Stewart wasn't in.

Nice, Shazam and Wonder Woman get films, but I ask one thing....

There is a reason why it's called Dawn of Justice. It doesn't just refer to the Justice League. We have two pair of heroes who believe in their own justice. Batman thinks Superman's a threat because his own race have caused destruction on Metropolis. Also, Superman killed Zod.
