@daredevil21134: Yea but writers say they have plans for so many issues or whatever. Like Hickman has said he's got three big stories to tell with Avengers and then that's it.

Waid's been on it for 3 years so I really hope the new series doesn't go past 20 issues and whoever kills that annoying Kirstin Mcduffie will be my best friend

I wonder what the book would be like if Marvel wanted it to be gritty after the TV show starts but still kept Waid on.

Waid has to go eventually so they might wanna start looking at other writers. I vote David Liss. Judd Winick, Rick Remender, Jason Aaron or Bendis again..........

Greg Ruka for me but I think Waid could do a good gritty book if he tried to write the same way he does on Irredeemable, Incorruptible and Insufferable.

@jonny_anonymous: I left Rucka out because I don't see him coming back to Marvel anytime soon. I think they pissed him off. I don't think Waid is a fan of grim Daredevil. He always talks about characters like Stiltman,Jester and Mike Murdock his seems to be more of a fan of the pre miller Daredevil era.He even said he was surprised Marvel asked him to write Daredevil because he's not really known to write characters like him. I'm sure if he tried hard enough he probably could write him the way we usually like him written as you pointed it but it seems to be out of his comfort zone as he's more of a Spider-Man,Wally West and Superman kind of guy.I just think he needs to go tbh.

@daredevil21134: Greg Ruka is back at Marvel now, he's writing the new Cyclops ongoing. Also the Waid books I mentioned are pretty grim n gritty.

@jonny_anonymous: Good to know. Then he is one of my choices, probably the top choice but I still feel that Waid prefers to write lighter stories. He could have easily wrote a serious Daredevil comic without making him over the top and witty. And still not make him a big ball of tragedy,it's been done before.I never once thought he was incapable of it he just prefers not to.

So I'm gonna get some flack on this, but I'm about 6 or 7 issues into Waid's run and I'm liking it. Perhaps my opinion will change when I go back in stories but it's new reader friendly, so there's that >.<

If you're looking for a funny superhero book you will continue to like it,it all comes down to what you like .I like more realistic grounded style DD stories. But even if you love the current series you're welcome to post here. It's for all DD fans.

@jonny_anonymous: That's what I hear. I figured I'll start with Waid's stuff first so I can catch up to the current All New on going then jump back in time. Haven't decided where I want to start yet though. Possibly read all of Volume 2 through then go back to volume 1 and find a start point there. I'm all over the place with catching up on old series with a lot of Marvel characters lately, mainly street levelers.

Start with Guardian Devil and go all the way into the Bendis run.

I have all the stories you recommended to me on list as well, I've decided to nearly drop DC as a whole so I have a bit of spare money so I decided it's time to crack into the history of some Marvel characters. Daredevil, Moon Knight, Iron Fist, and so on.

@arturocalakayvee: add Winter Soldier to the list and your set

Loved the series. I started reading Marvel around 2011, but only their weeklies, so I've read it already. Also went back and read Brubaker's Bucky run, which I love too.

Ah well DD, Iron Fist and Moony are great characters to get in to.

I would recommend for DD start with:

  1. Daredevil: The Man Without Fear - This is Miller redoing Matt's origin.
  2. Daredevil by Frank Miller Vol 1 & 2
  3. Daredevil: Born Again
  4. Daredevil: Guardian Devil
  5. Daredevil: Parts Of A Whole
  6. Daredevil by Bendis
  7. Daredevil by Brubaker
  8. Daredevil by Diggle
  9. Daredevil Reborn

And then if you must, the Waid stuff :p

Do you think they could make it work where Punisher could be a Defender?

I've always really liked the idea of The Punisher in a team dynamic. Him being in Thunderbolts is alright but I've really liked the 3 man team of DareDevil, Spider-Man, and himself. I think he would fit well in with Defenders if done right.

For some reason I like him and Daredevil team ups too. There are times when he drops his killing rule when working with Horn head

I just read the Omega Effect story last night for the second time (I read it the first time it came out because it was in Avenging Spider-Man as well) and he used rubber bullets because DD and Peter asked (told) him too. If Punisher did that on The Defenders or adapted weapons that are non-lethal (while with the team), it could be awesome to see in that series.

There is rumores that that dude from Agents of SHIELD is really Frank Castile

I don't watch AoSHIELD, I'm waiting for the season to end so I can binge watch, who is this guy that could be Frank?

@arturocalakayvee: A Spec Ops guy called "Grant Ward": His wiki is: Grant Ward: A S.H.I.E.L.D. black ops specialist.[15] He is a gruff, unsociable "manly man" in his early 30's who is great at his job, but not so great at getting along with his coworkers. Ward has a strong moral foundation and is not without his charm. After a traumatic encounter in the episode "The Well," he begins a sexual affair with Agent May.[14][16]The affair ends in the episode "Yes Men". They have dropped hints that something trumatic happened with his family and when fans asks if he was really Frank Castle the show makers said that they couldn't confirm or deny.

Yea but Ray Stephenson has been playing Volstagg in the Thor movies.

Michael C Hall does look the part but I'm still not sure about it.

Wow, I knew Volstagg looked familiar, I had no idea he was the same guy.

I definitely agree MCH looks like Murdock but I haven't seen Dexter so I don't know his skill set.

@daredevil21134: Completely agree! If they brought him back that would be awesome! But I don't see it likely...

I hope he does though. I thought he looked the part

Looked the part, acted the part well, made it feel like it was actually Frank Castle in person.

Michael C Hall as Daredevil has me curious

Yea but Ray Stephenson has been playing Volstagg in the Thor movies.

Michael C Hall does look the part but I'm still not sure about it.

Wow, I knew Volstagg looked familiar, I had no idea he was the same guy.

I definitely agree MCH looks like Murdock but I haven't seen Dexter so I don't know his skill set.

Haha yep.

No Caption Provided

Yea I've seen a few episodes of Dexter and I like them but there is something that bothers me about that casting but I'm just not sure what.

@daredevil21134: I've never seen him in anything other than X-Men and he didn't do very much in that.
