Wow,,really great list
@cameron83: thanks man. are there any I missed that you think I should read?
Does it have to be canon?
@cameron83: nope. dark knight returns isn't canon and I have it here
I think you should read Arkham Asylum: A serious house on serious earth
@cameron83: it's on here already. number 21
Oh wait,nevermind....you already have it
Great list! I have yet to read quite a few of these (I'm purchasing the last issue of Traps and Trapezes tomorrow) but some of my favorite books of all time are here.
@shadowswordmaster: thank you
@cameron83: it's on here already. number 21
lol my bad....
@rulerofthisuniverse: like which books?
And I'm very fond of Traps and Trapezes. Saiko is an awesome villain
@batmannflash: Hush, The Killing Joke, and The Long Halloween are my 3 favorite comic books of all time (in that order). I haven't finished A Court Of Owls (I'm going to buy the Night Of The Owls collection soon) but when I do, I'll probably add it to that list, because I've been absolutely loving it so far. And I totally agree, Saiko has been awesome! Can't wait to see how the arc wraps up.
@rulerofthisuniverse: yeah hope Saiko shows up more in the future. Hush and Killing Joke are great. Long Halloween took a couple reads for me to like. Yeah the Owl storylines are fantastic. You'll definitely enjoy them. They are so many more great Bat-family titles that I have yet to read...guaranteed to keep me busy for awhile!
@batmannflash: When I first tried out The Long Halloween, I only read the first half of the first chapter and found it really boring. I couldn't get into the art and the story was kinda boring to me, so I stopped. I eventually tries it a second time, and now that I had already read that part I got through it a lot easier and LOVED it from there. I got over my problems with the art immediately. If there was one thing I didn't like, it was the portrayal of the Riddler. Otherwise, it was great.
And there's still quite a few I need to read, also. I haven't got around to Arkham Asylum, Under The Red Hood, Morrison's entire run, and Dark Victory yet.
@rulerofthisuniverse: yeah agreed. Morrison's run is overrated, but still good. It's a pretty revolutionary take on Batman.
I'm currently trying to catch up on titles outside of Batman, so Red Robin, and Nightwing. I've already read all of the Batgirl series.
@batmannflash: I just read Nightwing #7, and all I can say is that Kyle Higgins had WAY more up his sleeve than I was expecting! Loved the arc, and it all came together so beautifully! Can't wait to read Batman #7 and I'm SO pumped for the Night Of The Owls Crossover!!!
@rulerofthisuniverse: glad you enjoyed it. I really liked that Nightwing arc. Batman 7? oh hoho wait till you read Batman #8 and 9. knock your socks off hahah
Night of the Owls is awesome, though I do enjoy A Court of Owls/City of Owls, which was purely the Batman title, better.
@batmannflash: Yeah, the Batman title has been the best of the New 52 so far (even though Aquaman became a very close second with The Others arc which I bought in the volume last week) and I can't wait to see what Snyder has in store for the Night of the Owls.
And the cool thing about the NotO crossover is that buying the hardcover digitally (which includes every crossover issue from every bat-series is cheaper than getting all the crossover issues of just the series I buy (Batman, Batman and Robin, Nightwing) with a $20 price tag for all 14 issues. It's awesome, really.
@rulerofthisuniverse: yes, Batman has been my favorite New 52 title with Aquaman as a close second. It's amazing! The Trench was pretty good and The Others is so far my favorite Aquaman story, although Throne of Atlantis is up there somewhere.
Yeah, do you buy on comixology? I do.
@batmannflash: Yeah, I buy from Comixology. I also have bought two books from the iTunes bookstore (Justice League Vol 1: Origin and Aquaman Vol 2: The Others, though Night of the Owls will soon be added to that list) because Comixology doesn't sell volumes, but in most cases Comixology is the cheapest option with the best layout.
@rulerofthisuniverse: The Others was fantastic. Origin was great from a presentation standpoint (thanks Jim Lee!) but had some stupid parts.
Yeah Comicxology is good. Although I prefer to actually have the comics in my hands, comixology is cheaper
@batmannflash: I prefer reading printed comics too, but the $1 price drop, having it wherever you go (at least for me, because I have an iPad) without having to go to a store, and the inability to damage it get the better of me. The only real comics a have are an old Batman one-shot and Free Comic Book Day stuff.
@rulerofthisuniverse: agreed. And I don't have any printed comics at all. I just see people take pictures of them and it looks cool and shiny haha
@batmannflash: Um....... I honestly have no idea what you just said.
@rulerofthisuniverse: lol you know what I mean, comics just look cooler in print
@batmannflash: So does that mean you only buy from Comixology, or is that your comic collection?
@rulerofthisuniverse: no it's not my comic collection. I said above that I buy only from Comixology and have no printed comics at all. haha
@batmannflash: Sorry, I got a bit confused by that.
