One vote for Amazing Spider-Man #18 - "The End of Spider-Man!"

you have 5 votes. Are you using all 5 points on that title?

@perethorn thanks for voting!

Is this still going on? I'm so confused and totally lost track of whether I've already voted or endorsed or still need to or cosign or final order cosign or final order vote or listen bub...

btw...what happens when you "listen bub"? :P

Executive decision is that voting will end July 6-7th (maybe July 5th). That gives us two final weeks to get any more voters. I love these lists, but this one has been extended for way too long...I am setting this date because I want to see the result and if we ended this week I wouldn't be able to see what people thought for a week, so I blame the week extension on the selfish host :P

so that is 34 plus etragedy and the user who only posted 4 stories but never specified which story got 2 points...

How in the world is OMD in this list?!

@etragedy: if you can...I would ask that you edit your first post to include your other votes (that would be the easist thing for me so whenever I compile these votes I wouldn't have to scroll down to see your other comments to know whatelse you voted for...)

@jedixman said:

It was nominated like the rest of the stories. If you are not happy with where it placed (like if you want it lower), I might suggest using your votes to vote up the stories below it (thus bumping it down). That is one stratagy people use on these projects you could use. or you could vote for the stories you liked. whatever you want...

But voting up the ones below it shouldn't matter because it's not in order yet, right?

It's like in some order that was easy to list roughly alphabetical by title then numerical - thus the ASMs are in chronological order right now e.g.:

  1. Amazing Spider-Man #7 - 1963 ("The Return Of The Vulture ")
  2. Amazing Spider-Man #11 - 1964 ("Turning Point")
  3. Amazing Spider-Man #14 - 1964 ("The Grotesque Adventure of the Green Goblin")
  4. Amazing Spider-Man #87 - 2011 ("Unmasked At Last")
  5. Amazing Spider-Man #90 - 1970 ("And Death Shall Come")
  6. Amazing Spider-Man #129 - 1974 ("The Punisher Strikes Twice")
  7. Amazing Spider-Man #149 - 1975 ("Even if I live I Die!")
  8. Amazing Spider-Man #491 - 2003 ("Doomed Affairs")

Because there is no way Amazing Fantasy #15 is the best Spider-Man story - even remotely (most historically significant perhaps, but best - no way)... it just came first alphabetically.

@etragedy: yes and no to your question...

This list DOES have an inital order based upon the cosigns from last step (I have you cosigning a few things, but it's been a few months since we did that step).

You are correct in saying in spots it is alphetized. However, all the stories have some total from cosigning whcih we used to make this inital order. In the spots the story totals had ties they were automatically alphabetized.

ex:

  1. Amazing fantasy #15
  2. Amazing Spider-man #50
  3. The Death of Gwen Stacy
  4. Amazing Spider-Man #300

all of the above have the same ranking based on cosigning. You can look at votes to see which title is ahead such. I will not deprive you of that information.

However, I can not stress enough that voting DOES matter. This is a very rough estimate of what the list will be like and there are a number ties, but it is an estimate never the less that you should REALLY pay attention to.

As you have sort of noticed and I can confirm without giving any totals there IS a tie between 55-79 of the initial order, so there is a little leyway on the actual ranking of this group of stories, but there is a possibility that the story that @jedixman didn't like will make the list. You have participated in my lists before so you might know that I never guarantee any story 100 % to be on the list, but I believe my advice still holds importance because unlike past lists we only have 110 stories. that means there are only 10 slots for the runner up list and thus better chances of stories staying on the list.

The story in question is ranked 70. What does that mean exactly? There is no guarantee it will be on the list and there is no guarantee the other way either, but it does mean that it is 30 slots from being off the list. Heed my words and my warning. if you find something you disagree with...fix it now while you still have chance to

What about Spiderman/Human Torch? That is a good story too. I think it would get my vote

Spider-Island

Posted by TheTrollDance

3, 14, 28, 66, 100.

  1. Big Time - (Story Arc)
  2. The Death of Gwen Stacy - (Story Arc)
  3. Clone Saga - (Story Arc)
  4. Maximum Carnage - (story Arc) (SMU #1-2, WOS #101-103, ASM #378-380, SM #35-37 and SSM #201-203)
  5. Spiderman Reign - (Story Arc) (Spiderman reign 1-4)

I *really* wanted to vote for The Other, but that would have meant not voting for The Death of Gwen Stacy, and that's just something I can't bring myself to do.

Posted by TheTrollDance

Also, I just noticed that One More Day is on the list. You should fix that.

if you like that story and you want it on the list then I need 3 or more sentences from you with reasons why someone should read the story (I need from all nominations I should say not just this one...)

Spider-Island

for all 5 of your votes? I just need comfirmation on that fact...

Posted by The Poet

Also, I just noticed that One More Day is on the list. You should fix that.

if someone nominated it, then it is on the list or at least the full list (since we do have a runner up list for those stories not within the 100). You can fix it with your votes if you wanted to just like I have suggested to others who disagreed with the same story

3, 14, 28, 66, 100.

  1. Big Time - (Story Arc)
  2. The Death of Gwen Stacy - (Story Arc)
  3. Clone Saga - (Story Arc)
  4. Maximum Carnage - (story Arc) (SMU #1-2, WOS #101-103, ASM #378-380, SM #35-37 and SSM #201-203)
  5. Spiderman Reign - (Story Arc) (Spiderman reign 1-4)

I *really* wanted to vote for The Other, but that would have meant not voting for The Death of Gwen Stacy, and that's just something I can't bring myself to do.

so that would be 37 plus: pending confirmation of austinmrkieross, jumpstart55 and @huaynacapac

Note: if there are any stories you think are missing don't hesitate to nominate them, but they MUST have 3+ sentences with them to be nominated and remember they don't have the same advantage as the other stories as they won't have any cosigns. These community nominations will be taken up to June 29th so Poet can add the story to the full list. After the 29th Poet will stop taking any additional nominations.

Voting ends July 6th-7th, 2013 (Exact date to specified then). Huzzah!

I'm voting for Spider-Men (mini series).

Posted by E1000

Well, I'm a newbie, but those stories really amazed me. I loved all the Brand new day era. In AvX, that was what Spider-man is all about: never giving up. And in New Avengers, he was the glue of that group. Haa good times... I can't stand this Superior non-sense, AMS 700 was the worst comic I've ever read, not only because of what happens.

19. The Gauntlet - (Story Arc)

30. Spider-Man: New Ways To Die - (Story Arc)

55. 24/7 - (Story Arc)

66. Avengers vs X-Men #9 - 2012 ("Round 9")

86. Breakout - (Story Arc) (New Avengers 1-6)

3 for "Death of Gwen Stacy", and 2 for Amazing Fantasy #15

Posted by The Poet

1,2,3,39,59

1,2,3,39,59

translating that into

  1. Amazing fantasy #15 - 1962
  2. Amazing Spider-man #50 - 1967 ("Spider-man No More!")
  3. The Death of Gwen Stacy - (Story Arc)
  4. Amazing Spider-Man #90 - 1970 ("And Death Shall Come")
  5. Amazing Spider-Man #96-98 - ("The Green Goblin Reborn")\

because those numbers are useless to me and would be useless to you if any additonal stories would be added after you post because the list numbers would be reformated.

so that is 44 plus the pending confirmations and fixes from jumpstart55 (distribution issue), huaynacapac and austinmrkieross (would prefer reply confirmation based on how low their forum post count is, but might count anyway...)

@the_poet

75: Spider-Men - 2012 (Mini Series)

9. Ultimate Spider-man #1-7 - 2000 ("Power and Responsibility")

Top 5 (From Top to bottom order) of this list.
