Back at New York Comic Con, Vertigo announced that Scott Snyder and Sean Murphy were teaming up once again for a new series, THE WAKE. You can check out that announcement HERE as well as our podcast when Sean appeared and briefly discussed the book.

Today Vertigo has released some more information including the cover to the first issue.

This is what Snyder first said about the series:

...a big, twisted, sprawling science fiction and horror epic, all of which begins with a single, terrifying discovery at the bottom of the ocean. It's one of the most ambitious stories I've ever done, and there's no one I'd rather be creating it with than Sean Murphy.

You can head over to MTV Geek for more on the main character of the series.

Is this an ongoing or a limited series?

#2 Posted by Loki2u (276 posts) - - Show Bio

Not usually my genre of choice, but with these two on the title I'll definitely be checking this out.

this does look cool but honestly I would trade every single Vertigo comic to have Hellblazer continue

I thought Scott Snyder said he only wanted to do 3 books at a time? So will he be doing Batman, American Vampire, Superman and The Wake at once?

#15 Posted by Helsink (9 posts) - - Show Bio

@Shark_Repellent_Bat_Spray: American Vampire is on a hiatus. It's not going to be coming out for a while.

In Scott Snyder (Batman) and Sean Murphy (Punk Rock Jesus) We Trust.

I'm interested but I'll probably get this in trade form. I don't think my pull list fund will stretch any further...

Aquatic horror comic? If DC ever wants Snyder to replace Johns on Aquaman, perhaps this is a good way to test the waters.

Definitely picking this up!
