Spider-man off the avengers?
YES!!!!!
no seriously name one time spider-man was useful in the avengers book.
Haha.
I kind of knew that this was gonna happen. From Avenging spider-man 15.1 when he said some quips to Peter's partners at Horizon. Plus in DD #21 when he basically said he was going to crush Daredevil, I knew that there would be clashes. Ock cannot and will not work in a team. I think that The Avengers and other people in his life will start to notice the difference and will at some point put two and two together.
I'm wondering what he could possibly do to get kicked off the Avengers considering all the PR lightning rods already associated with them. Does he smother a kitten on live TV or something?

Replace "fired" with "CANCELLED!" then that would be a start in the right direction for this garbage.
Agreed!
So the Spider-Man that's been in the Marvel Now issues of Avengers is actually Doc Ock too then, right?
I like the arc personally.
I hope Ock loses it as Parker, I mean the kid gloves come off completely, and we finally see what kind of damage a moral-less Spidey is really capable of (and no, Kain doesn't count as a 100% valid substitute for me).
As a fan of the battle threads, it could prove very revealing - we might finally put to rest a lot of speculation.
Doc Ock Spidey versus Wolverine. Both out for blood. Make it happen.
I'm so fired up for this series :D and to all those haters out there get over it things will be back to normal soon your all taking this too seriously it's not like Dan Slott permanently turned Spidey into the Gender Bender...
I wonder if he gets fired from Horizon Labs as well? It looks like he will still be superior spider-man but an inferior peter parker. I think he will be in the same runt that Peter was when he first became Spidey. Low paying job, balancing two lives.
@Death Certificate: Avengers vs X-men when he was Colossus's punching bag. He helped the others escape as he got brutalized.

I'm actually surprised people didn't complain when Peter got his dream job at Horizon. He had so much money, a great apartment, etc, everything that was the opposite of what Peter Parker's "Parker Luck" was about. Now he's getting fired and people are having a fit?
And for the record, I still say "The Other" story where Peter dies and gets reborn in a cocoon made from spiders was way more whack than what's going on now. I know there are those that really loved that story but it just didn't work for me personally.
You're obviously in the wrong part of the internet. You need blind and downright stupid hatred. Get that common sense of yours out of here.
This is a cool reboot for the Spiderman series....all last by Ock hands, all gathered by Peter's later...just sayin
Fired from Horizon? Good.
I don't see why either Otto/Peter or Peter (if he returns) can't simply be an independent inventor, occassional guest lecturer or teacher at ESU, or run on on-line business to make money. I think it would be great of Slott to acknowledge the growing number of in-home business owners that make a living owning websites, constructing websites, offering technical services such as on-request programming, or the many other ways people are using computers, global communications, and the internet to make a living equal to anyone working in the corporate world. Both of these guys are geniuses. Slott doesn't need to make them rich this way, can highlight the fact that being Spider-Man takes too much time and that impacts how successful he (Otto/Peter or Peter) is. If its a tech request than part of that is he's always missing deadlines or getting calls from his clients, thus keeping the classic theme of Peter always being late or missing appointments/events. But at least it would be something unique for the character (off my head I can't think of a character that runs an online business, I thought one or two did back in the early 2000's but not sure if one does now) and that reflects the times and possible occupational paths of both older readers and kids wondering what they will grow up to do in life. I mean, if Peter was made a photographer for a newspaper back in the day because it was seen as an exciting career choice (and of course copies from a few other heroes that pre-dated him.....cough, cough......Superman.......cough) than why not give him a job that fits with a growing trend in the world rather than just sticking him in a lab like Reed Richards or Tony Stark? Yeah, it doesn't copy from another character (the comic book industry staple approach for "new" ideas) but it would be a good fit for the character and a nice balance between having money but not having access to top of the line technology (anything he used would have to be built at home as it was prior to Horizon rather than being developed from Horizon's resources).
please tell me this all leads to kaine getting his spot on the avengers..cmon now people we still have a Clone swinging through the streets. If you dont like Superior let the folks at marvel know by switching books over to scarlet spider.
its in the title "All of the power None of the Responsability" guys the last few issues of Scarlet Spider Kaine has been acting more like peter than even peter himself has been =p just pickup 12 and 12.1 for that spiderman sense of humor
@dondave: When does the first issue come out? Also do other knows that Peter is dead and it is now Ock?
Cancelled really would have been better. Don't care that he's off the Avengers. The only team I liked him on was New Avengers. But I am mad that Dan Slott is going to retcon everything after OMD to make Peter's life horrible between him and his friends and family when he gets back, because we all know this book won't last. I can see it carrying at best 16 issues before it gets cancelled. The worst part is that when he does get back we'll have to start over at issue #1. I still would have been cool with just about any of the other theory replacements people thought up....we'll not Norman Osborn. But Miguel O'hara would have been cool
@dondave: Omg tomorrow! Now im excited. So everyone thinks what that Ock is dead and Parker killed him? Sorry didnt really read the series but noiw im interested and will be picking up Superior.

yeesh, Humberto Ramos's art is no good.
No matter what fans said about how they dont like this new direction Spiderman is taking, they will still buy it. And thats the funny truth about superior Spiderman!!
