Rick Remender is teaming up with Gerry Duggan for the eighth issue of UNCANNY AVENGERS #8AU. In this issue the team will find themselves traversing through a "dystopian world" where they will meet the likes of Kang and The Apocalypse Twins. It will be interesting to see the way these characters interact and what Rick and Gerry have planned for these characters. Check out the full solicit below and let us know if you are planning on picking up the issue this May.

UNCANNY AVENGERS #8AU

Marvel is pleased to announce Uncanny Avengers #8AU from the blockbuster team of Rick Remender, Gerry Duggan & Adam Kubert! This May, the Uncanny Avengers must band together and make their way throughout this new dystopian world. But when The Apocalypse Twins and Kang are involved, will they make it out of the Age of Ultron in one piece? And when Havok and Rogue set off to save the Morlocks, what secret will Rogue unearth about the Twin’s hidden past?
“We’ve been setting up the role of Apocalypse, the Apocalypse Twins in the Marvel Universe, and with this issue readers get their first in-depth look at them AND a MAJOR reveal in regards to Kang's involvement in it all,” explained Remender. “It also hints at a big future romance we're developing. Do not miss this issue.”
With the robotic revolution in full force, no fan can miss how Age of Ultron will ultimately change the Marvel Universe leaving no hero or villain unscathed!
“When Rick first told me about the Uncanny Avengers I was floored - it's such a fun book with so many threads are being woven together. Fans are only starting to see the hints of where this run is going,” explained Duggan. “Age Of Ultron asks one of the greatest questions fans have been wondering for decades, what if Ultron won?! And throughout the event, people are going to love seeing these dominoes...and characters fall. The story I’m cooking up with Rick and Adam is a fun, but important story that marries two timelines, and I'm just thrilled to be a part of it in some small way.”
So what are you waiting for? Head on over to your local comic shop and reserve a copy of Uncanny Avengers #8AU!

I couldn't get into Uncanny Avengers cause it's just too dark for me. I mean, Rogue is one of my favorites, but issue 3 was outright depressing.

Interesting idea but Uncanny Avengers has had such bad shipping I can't get into the series and unless it gets better I'm going to drop it.

Well that's certainly not the villain I expected for this series.

Lol I love that dark & gloomy depressing read that is Uncanny Avengers. I loved Wolverine's X-Force & Uncanny X-Force (Remenders' run). My question is who the hell are the Apocalypse Twins?

But I l love the Idea that Kang is in a possible alliance with Kang. I've always wonder what would happen if Kang, Thanos, Red Skull, Apocalypse & Dr. Doom teamed up. (Magneto would be on that team too but he'd kill Red Skull in a heartbeat). At least I'm getting a small fraction of that lol.

I'll get anything that's Uncanny Avengers, it's great. One question though; this is a different issue than UA 8 right? So in May there'll be UA 8 and UA 8AU?

Now that Cassidy is off the book it should be coming out on time.....

Cool, Kang and some Apocolypse Twins.

#10 Posted by saoakden (1018 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm guessing the two characters in front of Kang are the Apocalypse Twins. Looks interesting.

#11 Posted by blazinasian112 (893 posts) - - Show Bio

Very interesting.....

@Namor1987: Have you read the Acts of Vengeance Storyline with Dr.Doom and Red skull teaming up under Loki's recruiting (Apocalypse refused) along with Magneto, Kingpin, Mandarin, Wizard.

#12 Posted by mrrock25 (1 posts) - - Show Bio

I believe the Apocalypse twins are the "The Dark Angel Saga" where Archangel had sex with Pestilence (one the four horsemen) and she got pregnant and escaped with Dark Beast...no mentioned afterwards about what happened, but Reminder did mention parts of the Dark Angel Saga coming to Uncanny Avengers....anything with Kang's involvement I have no idea.

#13 Posted by LordRequiem (1309 posts) - - Show Bio

Kang really? Why the hell is he here? I have no idea who the other two are.

#14 Posted by fACEmelter88 (609 posts) - - Show Bio

Apocalypse twins? Did miss something?

#15 Posted by ssj2DeadPool (213 posts) - - Show Bio

I love how whenever Kang shows up, he is unstoppable and no avenger can lay a finger on him, but somehow by the end of the story, iron man is punching him in the face.

So... Anyone thinking of Evan?

#17 Posted by Mezmero (898 posts) - - Show Bio

I submit. Computers already rule over us. We just don't realize it. You win Ultron.

No but I've always had the idea that given the chance Magneto would kill Red Skull upon seeing him.

That's more than likely exactly who they are. Pestilence did make love with Archangel & get pregnant with his offspring. I bet Dark Beast brainwashed or influenced & enhanced them to his own specifications & probably made a deal with Kang to let him use them in exchange for some tech.

I'm going with the AU being similar to Marvel .1.This way they can give a sample of what to expect in the Alternate Universe. Cant use their normal .1 because they are used for getting new readers caught up and with a Large Story Arc I dont see that working as well therefore the AU ( Age of Ultron)tag.

Kang is my favorite villain. So yeah, I'm excited for this.

As long as this 'big new romance' isn't Rogue and Havok. *gag*

@Namor1987: I think that they're Archangel and Pestilence's kids. And I'm guessing that those two in the picture are them. Should be interesting.

I figured that out around the time of Uncanny X-Force's Dark Angel Saga last couple of issues.

I think I'm going to drop this book... Although I am interested in the inclusion of Wasp.

Is this the Kang that always shows up or is this Iron Lad turned Kang?

#28 Posted by Prodigy P (156 posts) - - Show Bio

Now I'm conflicted. I was planning to read the Apocalypse twins arc, but also skip anything Age of Ultron. What to do, what to do...

Really nice cover, by the way.

#29 Posted by Sleepbutnodream15 (570 posts) - - Show Bio

@RalfvdH: Hopefully he'll play a part in all of this. But the Apocalypse twins are most likely Archangel's kids. I bet Kang goes into the future and brings older versions of them to the present day.

Angels kids....

Uncanny Avengers #8AU -- Will there be a regular Uncanny Avengers #8, too?

There will be a normal Uncanny Avengers 8. The Age of Ultron tie-ins do not impact the normal stories at all which is nice. The Avengers story will proceed normally from 7 to 8 to 9 and 8AU will be a stand alone story.

I wonder if they will be able to actually ship 8 issues before this tie in is supposed to ship with all these delays.

Havok and Rogue about to get it on.

I was hoping they would give Kang a new look. His costume is outdated. I love this guy's art either way.

The Apocalypse twins look Japanese. Pestilence was a Japanese Geisha-looking Horseman of Apocalypse. I don't remember Archangel having sex with Pestilence, but it seems to add up.

I love the samurai influence of the Apocalypse twins. Obviously these 2 must be Arcangel and Pestilience children. Throw in Kang one of my fave villains of all time and I'm in.

Now, an appearance and reaction from Angel and young Angel would be interesting.

Also, am I the only one who loves that Remender tells a story without limits, that he uses years of story-lines and many titles to continue his story, that his finale in UXF wasn't really a definite finale?

Nice! Another adjunct to AU and it should be interesting. Not actively following AU when it comes out but I will definitely stay posted.

This, also it's quite sad that this title's getting thrown head-first into an inconsequential event when some its own stories haven't even been fully fleshed out yet, as well as the antagonists/protagonists.

The AU issue is stand-alone and won't impact the current ongoing arc. You can skip it.

Yeah, I love how remender does the whole multi title, long form storytelling thing too. And he does it in such a way that you can still enjoy each title without having to read absolutely everything. Smart guy.

AU tags are so the mainline books aren't bogged down by being involved with the crossover before they can do or continue their own stories.

Wish they would do this with most Cross-overs. Give the option of the titles that "Will" include important information, and continue the series stories. That way if somebody isn't interested in the Crossover they can still get a title w/o it being involved. Shoot I remember AvX titles that had themselves branded and except for an opening scene nothing else really pertained to it.

I decided against sticking with Uncanny Avengers but this does look interesting. I'm sure Remender's plans will be grand and rewarding in the long time, so I might collect this in trade.

@MatKrenz said:

Honestly? Uncanny Avengers so far has been very bleak. Especially with issue 3. They were flat out killing civilians and it came across that Remender was giddy about doing so with the descriptions. It just is a depressing book with very little optimism. It's the same par Secret Avengers and X-Force have been. It's pretty dark.

Not "Child raping dark", but pretty damn dark.

Like a more straightforward and accessible Grant Morrison.
