'Shattered Heroes' Teaser Shows More Than Just Heroes Shattering

Events events events. You can't have comics without events these days. That's how it seems. Events do drive stories and it gives us a sense that the comic universe is actually larger than the immediate neighborhood of a single character. Marvel has been teasing their next event "Shattered Heroes." Their final teaser, released today, shows that it's more than just heroes that will be getting shattered.

This shouldn't be too much of a surprise. The teaser released yesterday shows the heroes with what appears to be Tanarus, the new God of Thunder. Originally that teaser had Thor in the back. At San Diego, Thor was swapped out.

What are your thoughts on Shattered Heroes? Do they need a break from all the bad events happening in their lives? Maybe they just need a big hug? We'll find out more as October approaches.

So Thor's just gonna... go? I havent been reading continuously. Is Blake still attached to him? Are we gonna see him walking around as a sheild agent now or something?
 i dont understand why they brought thor back to virtually kill him again.. but then again i dont really care. That death of Ultimate Spider-man trade needs to come out...

I am a big fan of those huge events Marvel likes to do. The idea of having all the famous heroes come out and work together against a massive threat appeals to me, and makes a lot of sense considering they all live in New York. But...I kinda want them to just cool it with the Major events...for just a year. That's all...let the characters actually deal with the aftermath instead of tossing them straight into another big scale event...

Fear Itself Aftermath..that's what it needs to be called. Seriously. And with Thor? Well, another one bites the dust..except this one has bitten dust over and over again until its just become cliche. Stop with big events already, Marvel!

Still with the notion that it's more thematic than anything, status quo of Marvel Earth, much as Age Of Heroes was. 
 
Thor dead is a surprise to me though. I'm not reading his series, but I'm aware its running, and last they showed in the Fear itself book he was 
only beaten, much like he was in Siege. I really doubt with everything they would just dismiss his character, and at worst he will just have adventures
elsewhere.

also in light of what I read there, I'm not on the badwagon that Marvel doesn't lnow what they're doing or whats next is going to be terrible, quite the opposite in fact, I like what I'm seeing previewed in the fallout of Marvels current events: FI, SI, and Schizm.

its not an event its like a new chapter like the heroic age...... just read the live blog on marvel 

Man the heroic age was to shortly lived :\ I'm looking forward to everyone looking homeless. 

It's kind of funny how every event is said to "change the marvel universe." They say something like that each time everything will change and the hero's will have harder times bla bla bla. I have no idea what I'm going to be reading to be honest.

Isn't Shattered heroes the after-event banner thing like heroic age was? Either way it means a truckload of pointless tie ins I guess.

It seems Shattered Heroes is similar to Dark Reign (from the liveblog), it seems to be more of a theme rather than an actual event
