It is MCU canon. All the MCU film preludes are canon and the writer Pilgrim confirmed Ant-Man's is as well.

Hayley Atwell and John Slattery are confirmed cast members for the Ant-Man film as well.

Because a comic a very small amount of people will read will totally make up for the main stream audience seeing Hank Pym as some old man now. lol

@jwalser3: I think that would just make you seem dumb since the amount of people who read these movie preludes is like 5% of the movie audience. There are also Hank Pym comics, people wanted a Hank Pym movie and they will never get it.

I hope they kept the 60's Pym as Ant-Man prologue in the movie that Edgar Wright talked about.

@blueecho: in broad strokes yes absolutely, in specific details not so much. There are some lines of dialogue and scenes in the Guardians Prelude that contradict things said in the movie and if I recall correctly I think Malekith and Kurse appeared in a MCU Thor comic before The Dark World. So assume that unless a comic page specifically contradicts a line from the movie then it cannon.

It was cool, and I especially liked seeing Peggy play such an awesome part.
