What exactly is that belt holding up?

One does not simply ask about the usefulness of superhero accessories.

Hmmm, not the best cover I've seen really to be quite honest. Simply "meh" to me, and I still am scratching my head at Angela even being in the Marvel U now.

I think it's purely to irritate Macfarlane.

I'm stunned that it's Milo Manara!
I mean, he's not exactly known for his all-ages super-hero artwork...
However, it's nice to see that he's branching out from his typical fare.

Funny you mention that, they made a joke about it in Savage Wolverine #1 - Savage Part 1: Snikt when Wolverine actually used his pouch on his belt.

I like the cover, but the coloring looks like it was done with color pencils.

How is this one of the most important events in comic history? That's implying something actually happened in Age of Ultron.

What is this character and why should I ever care about her? I'm asking sincerely. I am currently feeling the same antipathy I felt when I first saw Witchblade and that character turned out to be pretty cool, but that was the rare exception in my experience.

Angela is ready to make her mark on the Marvel Universe.

...and nobody cares

People like to bash Milo Manara, but I think it's a sweet cover. As far as Angela being entered into the Marvel universe is concerned -- I never read Spawn, so she's new to me. The more woman, the better. :-)

@themadmonkey: He did some covers for Uncanny Avengers and something else too, I think. It is pretty weird, but I like his art. These covers are pretty bland, though.

My thoughts exactly. Macfarlane tried to dick Gaiman over and not only did Gaiman end up getting the best of him, but now he's rubbing it his face. Personally, I'm happy for him. Sounds to me like Todd is a bit of an arse and it probably can't hurt for him to be taken down a peg or two.

When ex actually is this out. ? Also is this the spawn Angels comeing over to the main MU or is it the marvel version of Angela ?

Whats the point of her having armor if it only covers her chest and legs?

On a podcast called Talking Comics, a listener likewise suggested that Gaiman was trying to "stick it" to Todd MacFarlane by using Angela at Marvel. The hosts responded with the logical analysis that Gaiman actually has a life and is evolved beyond being driven by such petty motivations, and that MacFarlane is a multi-millionaire who hardly ended up with the short end of the stick. They further reasoned that it is more likely that having ownership of the character, Gaiman felt that the Marvel universe simply offered fertile ground for her ongoing development. I think I agree with the latter.

That's a nice old-style pulpy-looking cover. I like it.

But on Angela in general, meh.

What exactly is that belt holding up?

the belt is for her scabbard but for some reason Manara forgot to draw the top half of it so it ends up looking like a penis, subconsciously he probably still wants to draw adult comics.

Angela is the biggest free agent they could sign huh?

Still better than Rockets picking up Dwight Howard in FA

both are overrated lol

Does she remember spawn? Is she still part of image?

#34 Posted by Teerack (4549 posts) - - Show Bio

You'd think Marvel would at least try to explain why anyone should care about Angela before trying to market her xD Because I thought Spawn was dumb and I know nothing about her and never saw her pre AoU... so why should i care?

"The arrival of Angela to the Marvel Universe marks one of the most important moments in comics history."

This is a very bold claim to make. Does anyone actually think this? Just curious as I'd never heard of her before all this, and I don't know why this is a big thing.

It's not. And I don't get it. I just hope it's good.

To all you Marvel fan boys, Its so funny to me how you guys think Marvel itself is "TOAA" ,no pun intended, in the comic book world. When actually I think Marvel is a commercialized product made for children. If you ask me, the only characters worth taking notice to are the Phoenix, the Hulk, and Thanos. One thing you guys are right about is the fact that Angela doesn't belong in the Marvel U. I think she belongs in the DCU. Marvel is way to bubble gum for her think of the universe where she came. And I really think Gaiman was being a childish douche by practicing such an act. Next we will Cogliostro at Darkhorse or maybe even DC. But not Mideval Spawn(idle character). I think he knows better to even try to do anything with that character. But in the end Todd Still wins. With a new Spawn flick in the works, A toy line, Still drawing for comics. . . And what does Gaiman have. The tables will turn in the end Gaiman. This time it will be egg in your face. I can't wait for the day Todd has revenge without really trying to get that revenge. Only this time, Gaiman won't be able to do anything about it.

Since everyone else is doing it. . . .. . . . Marvel. . . . . . . MEEEH!

I am I the only one that's like... who actually care's about angela?

if you dont know about her READ about her. Angela is awesome. just went through all my angela books this week to prepare for her arrival. aw she is so cool. like magik without the magic lol. she has cool staff, sword and can teleport anywhere in the universe (which will help the guardians out in tight jams) why is she important? her first appearance was sold out. she was suppose to be a one oft character but they couldnt contain her awesomeness. im excited but this brings up a question: who could stand up to her in a fight? the woman has 100,000 years of experience and has fought every species you could imagine. no one can top her skills, Gamorra your titles is about to be taken!

@feargalr: You're not the only one. I love Angela. She and Maxima are my favs.
