Cover looks sweet and my favorite comics are the Avengers series. I will NOT be picking this one up. It all seems a little much with everything else Avengers going on.
I could see myself recommending it to someone who is new to comics though.

I simply cannot understand why people are complaining about Black Widow's inclusion in this series when there's a far more obvious problem - a big green problem called the Hulk. It might fit the tone of the Avengers movie to have the Hulk on the team, and as a cinematic experience, that works, but it doesn't fit 616 at all.
The Hulk is a monster driven by anger. Are we seriously expected to believe that the same creature that was responsible for the destruction in WWH is now considered to be one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes? I know he's a founding member, but he left before for a reason. The idea that Steve wouldn't have the Hulk put down rather than working alongside him is pretty difficult to swallow. The Hulk poses a far greater threat to the world than anything the Zodiac have got.

Why so many variant covers? Couldn't you just give us new stuff?
Because the variant covers are the new stuff. Plus, they're different. =P
@The Impersonator:Oh yeah, we REALLY haven't seen a group shout of the movie Avengers before. It's not like we aren't having a WHOLE MONTH of Avenger variants.
It seems like Marvel isn't doing anything but AvX soon...
She hasn't been a super-heroine since the days of wearing that ridiculous blackish/grey outfit. I think Marvel keep forgetting that she belongs behind the scenes. Perfect example is in that Thunderbolts arc where she was impersonating Yelena Belova. I remember reading that and going 'WHOAH! Didn't see that coming!'. She should stick with the Secret Avengers and Winter Soldier.@The Dark Huntress: I don't feel she belongs on the [main, public] team. Not now. Its feels forced for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to:
- Her Personality
- Her history with them, where she could have joined and been a superhero-y vigilante, but opted to go to Shield instead.
- Her current "adventures" with Barnes
- The fact it just 'happens' to be before the movie
- Has to do with the new age of "RECRUIT EVERYONE" Avengers
...and these are only the ones off the top of my head, not counting the more personal ones such as I don't think she deserves to be Marvel's superhero heroine and that she feels awkward to me among that line up.
i wish that the wasp would have been in the movie lineup instead of the black widow. it seems disrespectful to jan to leave her out. i like the widow but the wasp is the first lady of the avengers.
it makes you wonder how many variants marvel sells or publishes over the year. there are just too many of them.

Could have sworn that was Michael Turner's art there for a moment. Seriously. It looks great!
Micheal Turner wouldn't have been able to draw that many faces.
is this supposed to be a spinoff of the movie and tv show lineup or is this a completely new story and direction??

Why is the American flag thrown into the background? Why does Hawkeye have that lame costume with sunglasses? And is this just to push the movie with a roster like that? Questions aside, I like this art style. Nice work.
... Do you actually like the other suit? =\
I am really not a fan of Marvel basing seemingly everything they do with their comics around what film they have coming out next. I will be happy when May comes and goes and hopefully this glut of unnecessary Avengers books, tie-ins, and poor character line-ups will pass... and Hawkeye will go back to his real costume instead of this ultimate/film/whatever outfit he has now.
Now matter how good or bad this series may be, you can count me out on principle. I will not be supporting Marvel's "old fans will buy our books anyway, we need to worry solely about attracting new fans who go see our movies" business model.
