Last week Marvel released several teasers pitting different members of the X-Men and Avengers against each other. Today, Marvel is ready to show off the cover to the first issue.

For some reason, I can't get the idea of Captain America, Cyclops, Wolverine and Emma having some sort of singing contest out of my head. What I'm really curious is how this is all going to end and what it will mean for the different relationships between members.

They are probably fighting over the one set of restrooms that are rumored to exist at Marvel HQ.

I don't think those teasers meant anything other than to get our attention. I can't wait for this, I hope Armor and Warpath get fights that would be cool, they are underrated

Why are beast and wolverine on the avengers side? I know that they're apart of the avengers, but they're x-men. I'm so confused...

So wovly/beast are going to have some kinda revelation half way though this series and rejoin the cy-men .

A good cover should get people interested, and I'll say that I am.

I just hope that the book is nothing but illustrated combat, nothing I love more than superheroes duking it out.

I'm just curious. Is Angel going to have metal wings again? I'm just confused about him since the end of his storyline in X-Force.

Probably because they will side with the avengers before they side with Cyclops again? I'm confused because there have been preview covers where wolverine is fighting Captain America. So what is the deal with that? lol

The X-Men don't have any answer to Thor if he's not jobbing. Shouldn't Thor solo? The X-Men are going to have pull out Legion or X-man or Prof. X w/ Mind Gem to take him on.

I don't understand, is wolverine with the X-Men or against?

It's strange for him to be with the avengers when his students are siding with the x-men(armor)

This is just stupid oh well this the Justin Bieber of comics.

Insert some whiny comment about how this will be the worst event ever and Marvel are crap.

I'm looking forward to this anyway, but if these apparent match-ups are actually indicators as to who will fight each other in the book proper, I'm even more excited than before. These are far more interesting than the promo fights we were given (except for Magneto vs. Luke Cage, Iron Fist vs. Hope and Psylocke vs. Black Widow).

I'm guessing this series isn't going to be Canon because Angel wouldn't have metal wings and Thor wouldn't be alive

Reminds me of Marvel vs Capcom.

Angel has kept his metal wings since the conclusion of the dark angel saga.

They'll realize their differences, brush the dust off, shake hands, and join together to become the X-Avengers, thus uniting every single marvel superhero into one massive team (pretty much like what they've been doing) and they will fight off all evil doers....TOGETHER!!!!!

Why would Emma Frost side with "The Phoenix" (who will most probably end up being Jean Grey)? Sigh, she has been the victim of bad writing... again.

I bet you she will, it was stated by Marvel that the Young X-Students would have a role to play in all this (which will be as cannon fodder or cheerer's but still.) Oddly enough, Kitty hasn't been in any of the teasers as of yet. Not sure what difference that would make.

Marvel's events are usually a mix of everyones stories so unless you keep up with everyones stories you will never be able to properly follow the full story or understand why certain people are around or have different power sets

If the x-men lose this comic will have suffered from bad writing colossus Magneto rogue & iceman would be enough to handle that roster of avengers .

Do you think that Captain America is yelling "Arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggg" while Cylcops is yelling "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!", or is it vice versa?

So I'm assuming Wolverine and Beast start off on the Avengers side then realize they should probably stick by Cyclops and the rest of mutantkind later.

This is made more likely by the fact that the other members of the Jean Grey School (Armor, Iceman, Gambit) are shown on the X-Men side. It's like how Spidey realized Tony Stark was a d**k during Civil War.

Let Jim Cheung draw the entire series and dump John Romita Jr. 

Curious as to why Wolverine and Beast are on the Avengers side. Does this mean the return of Jean also.
