Yesterday we saw the Adam Kubert's cover to INFINITY #1, the upcoming 'event' from Marvel. We may complain about all the events and crossovers but with these covers and interiors by Jim Cheung, Jerome Opena and Dustin Weaver, how could you not be excited?

Today Marvel has revealed Arthur Adams' variant cover to the first issue.

Oh, and it's written by some guy named Jonathan Hickman. He's pretty good too.

This August, the Marvel Universe prepares for the biggest battle it’s ever faced – but first, Marvel is proud to unveil the jaw dropping variant cover to Infinity #1 by Arthur Adams! Infinity, the six part blockbuster comic event of the summer, brought to you by the star studded creative team of Jonathan Hickman, Jim Cheung, Jerome Opena & Dustin Weaver, takes fans to every corner of the Marvel Universe, and beyond! Earth has been marked as an “Avengers World”, protected by Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and more from the deadliest threats facing humanity. A powerful and destructive race is on a collision course with Earth and the only thing in their path is the Avengers! But even Earth’s Mightiest Heroes realize the one hope of defeating this dire threat is to unite every great hero across the cosmos…because only with a united Avengers Universe is there any chance of survival!

With our heroes at the other end of the universe, who is left to protect Earth? Enter Thanos, the galaxy’s most ruthless threat and an unparalleled force of brutality who brings order to the chaos of life through murder. The greatest threat to the Mad Titan’s work—and perhaps the universe’s greatest hope—is something he created leaving no world safe. Earth’s last hope may lie in the hands of a man who can level cities with a single whisper – Black Bolt, king of the Inhumans. But can the fearsome leader of a race hated and feared by his world, lead his people against Thanos? If they fall, so does the Earth—and the entire universe with it.

The Biggest Heroes. The Biggest Threats. The Biggest Sacrifices. This is Marvel’s INFINITY.

wonder if this will fit in with Age of Ultron

I might like that more than the main cover.

That could just be because Spider-Woman's on it though. :P

Pretty much this. As much as I love Mr. Adams' work - this is honestly not as dramatic as Kubert's. They could always ask, you know, Starlin and Perez to help out.....

God I love Manifold! Give him his own title NOW! (get it? I hope you got it)

Arthur "Art" Adams always "the best at what he does" . I hope they are going to show more about Hyperion in this event and how powerful he can be. The bad part we will not get a fight against Thanos it can be interesting to see a Thanos vs Hyperion but the Hyp will be in far corner of the Universe. Wait a minute now i'm thinking about it where was he when Ultron took over the world with all those heavy hitters it should have been almost impossible .

Like it

Kind of sounds a little like "Final Crisis". I am going to support it though because I like Thanos.

That is a cool cover, always liked Adams' work.

But can we call time on Cap's knee pads and chin pad, please?

Nunchaku! Like this cover, still not really used to Indestructible Hulks armor but he's cool anyways. Liked Ultron, X-termination was just meh, but I'm definitely getting Infinity.

The Biggest Sacrifices.

what marvel? is the whole universe gonna die this time instead of... wolverine (cause we all know they've found a way and they are ready do it cause some has to die per event)

#17 Posted by Novemberx2 (502 posts) - - Show Bio

@supreme_maj: he wasn't created at that point, Bendis wrote age of ultron about 2 years ago (explaining why spider-man is peter parker in the event as much marvel tries to tell us he isn't) it was supposed to be 2012 event, but around december 2011, marvel decided to delay the event for reason unknown (B Hitch told me this) and therefore marvel quickly rushed together Avenger v x-men to fill the void (hence why everything in the event was poor), then launch marvel now! Hickman only created this hyperion for marvel now) age of ultron is not supposed to take place during marvel so hyperion doesn't exist.

I believe the original plan was for age of ultron to end with the creation of marvel now, but marvel panicked and didn't want to be seen to be ripping of the new 52.

Huzzah for Black Bolt, one of Marvel's finest characters.

Who are those two blokes in the background?

And Hulk looks silly in "armour."

I understand Hulk's armor is more for Banner then hulk... But can they please take it off of him outside his main title ! It's quite an eye sore to see all the time !

BREATHTAKING!!! except that stupid looking Hulk armour

This looks brilliant, chances are I won't have a chance to get this when it comes out but it's nice to have a preview. I'm looking forward to this series.

Oh, and newbie question here, why would Hulk need armor? He's Hulk for goodness sake. And I'm happy Captain America has his knee pads, I wouldn't want him to graze his knee during battle and get a bobo.

One: Arthur Adams always wins!

Two: Who's the black guy beneath Spider-Woman?

#28 Posted by Mrfuzzynutz (1271 posts) - - Show Bio

Double A kicked ass once again...HOWEVER Widow sitting on Hulk's shoulders seems odd with Space in the backdrop, as does Shang Chi with his 'chucks lol

Manifold. A quite boring member of Hickman's current Avengers team.

Why is Black Widow there?? What is she gonna do against Thanos?? Spy him to death?

I am so surprised that Spider-Man is absent from this series as if everyone in the Avengers Editorial Dept doesn't like Superior Spider-Man.

Meh... Generic art. Not really into the plot... But who am I kidding? I'd still pick this up.

If Bruce Lee and Michelangelo have taught me anything, it's to never underestimate the power of the nunchaku.
