The comic everyone has been talking about sold out and is getting a new printing. You've probably heard the news by now. The new cover does sort of give away a spoiler. But it's something we've known since ASM 698. Check out the variant. Are you going to try to pick one up.

It’s the story that rocked headlines around the world – Peter Parker is no more. Long live the all-new Spider-Man! Due to overwhelming demand, Marvel is proud to present your first look at the ALL-NEW, jaw dropping second printing cover to Amazing Spider-Man #700 by superstar Humberto Ramos. That’s right, the 700 issue of the long running series is no longer available at the distributor level and if you missed Dan Slott & Humberto Ramos’ critically acclaimed story the first time around, head over to your local comic shop and reserve the Amazing Spider-Man #700 Second Printing Variant.

Then, on January 9, Marvel launches Superior Spider-Man #1, an all-new ongoing series from Slott and superstar artist Ryan Stegman (Fantastic Four, Scarlet Spider)! Shipping twice-monthly, Superior Spider-Man launches a new chapter in the Marvel mythos, as Doctor Octopus strikes out on his own to be the greatest Spider-Man this world has ever known. But can he keep up the ruse? Will Spidey’s closest allies discover the fate of Peter Parker? And can this Spider-Man truly be a hero?

Don’t miss out on the story that’s taken the world by storm—Amazing Spider-Man #700 Second Printing Varianton-sale later this month at your local comic shop!

The story was decent but this..

This is not only rubbing salt in the wound, but is outright atrocious.

I'm partial to Ramos' art but this.... no.

I think it's hilarious. I absolutely love Spider-Man/Peter Parker. I am not concerned in the least bit about what is happening. It will all be okay. We'll get some interesting stories but WE ALL KNOW things will return to normal.

idk. i think the whole rape storyline is gonna be women in the fridge status

This just wrong...

I'm just hoping Slott doesn't become the new Jeph Loeb. You write one bad ending and you are shunned by fans as a bad writer. Slott's run is probably my favorite Spider-man arc to date. Well, after Maximum Carnage.

#7 Posted by Zghost (100 posts) - - Show Bio

Things will be back to normal right around the time of the next spiderman film, no way they have a movie come out with no peter parkers alive. In the meantime I really am curious how these stories will be i have faith in dan slott

only Loeb has written some pretty bad comics over the years.. dan slott could sink the spider man ship

Dock Ock in Peter Parker's body?

No. Just.......no.

I can't support Slott casting Peter aside the way he did. I also can't support the fact that Doc Ock is literally possessing Peter Parker. Out of respect, I can't bring myself to buy a single issue of this garbage until Peter Parker comes back.

Cool McFarlane spoof. I really like the cover.

I like the cover, but all of those 700's are a bit obnoxious.

QFT. I find the cover funny as well.

World's deadest superhero!.........what about sentry........

#14 Posted by hectorsquall (1137 posts) - - Show Bio

I fail to see what's so funny about that cover...

The art isn't even that great to begin with and it's just Slott and Ramos trolling the fans again. If the goal is to get us excited for Superior then they're doing a really bad job.

What number is this issue? I can't quite tell.

To all of those complaining about this, you do realize Peter's going to be back within a year, right? Two, tops.

#19 Posted by LordRequiem (1310 posts) - - Show Bio

Overwhelming demand?! To what get rid of Peter Parker, yeah I very much doubt that, complete and utter morons. Why not change his costume to a banana, because of.... overwhelming demand.

#20 Posted by Dark_Guyver (2309 posts) - - Show Bio

I really don't care if things will be back to the way they were in a year. I'm tired of marvel pulling this crap and shoving it down our throats. OMD, OMT, now this Spidey/Ock garbage. No thanks Marvel, I'm out and won't be back.

Here come the haters of Superior Spider-Man.

Like Marvel isn't going to get their moneys anyways, and I'll be giving it to them.

You know the old say, "Birds on a feather stick together"... now there should be one for eight legged freaks...since Spider-Man and Dr. Octopus were inspired by both a spider and an octopus...

If Jean Grey can come back from the dead so many times, I fail to see Peter staying dead for a decade or forever.

What the f***? Long live the new spiderman?! F*** you Dan slott. And this is so nice rubbing it in our faces. You piece of s***

It's funny, I was looking through Amazing Spider-man 300 last night. Really fun to read. I had just met Todd McFarlane himself recently when I bought it as a back issue. Happy Days. I was thinking 'why didn't they do a variant homage to this 300 cover'.Here you go.

#33 Edited by ben102766 (8 posts) - - Show Bio

I think that this has the potential to be a cool series. Being a lifelong Spidey fan, I can't say that I love how this turned out, but that was what we had to expect it to happen. If it didn't happen this way, then it would've been a pretty much pointless story. This variant cover is sort of a major spoiler for those who haven't read the issue, but I think it's a pretty good cover.

Guess it shows in Canada maybe ASM did not sell as well, the comic store I go to has a huge stack of ASM 700 and the owner told me its selling slow. As for the cover Marvel is now trying to piss off fans so they hate read this comic till Peter comes back. Its a gamble but I think there doing this because they have already lined up Peters return.

As for people saying Dying Wish was an amazing story I guess I did not see it like that. I thought the pacing was a mess and the emotional parts were not there.

Spider-Man Ship? That ship has been sinking since the 90's. The only reason Spider-Man is even relevant in today's comic world is because of Ultimate Spider-Man.

@G-Man The fact that Peter I'd still in there somewhat and did manage to establish that last little kick at the end definitely leaves the door open for us to hope that Spider-man isn't really the "deadest" Super-hero.

We're all comic book readers, yeah? Peter Parker will be back within 6 months. :/ I think the narrative that Slott is writing could easily have Spider-man revert back to being dominated by the Peter Parker personality.
