Marvel Teases FUTURE IMPERFECT for Summer 2015

Just when we thought the teasers were over, Marvel has released another one. So far we've seen teasers for SECRET WARS, CIVIL WAR, AGE OF ULTRON VS MARVEL ZOMBIES,YEARS OF FUTURE PAST, PLANET HULK, ARMOR WARS, HOUSE OF M, INFINITY GAUNTLET, OLD MAN LOGAN, INHUMANS: ATTILAN RISING, THE END of the Ultimate Universe, and AGE OF APOCALYPSE. The latest deals with 1992's HULK: FUTURE IMPERFECT by Peter David and George Perez.

This image was drawn by Dale Keown, another classic Hulk artist. Some of the teasers we've seen have had changes made to them while others, like this one, appear true to the original event. There's still no telling what all these teasers are leading up to. If anything else, you now have a great excuse to read, or re-read, an incredible Hulk story. If you've never read it before, you need to fix that right away.

I remember this, good event. I wonder what will be different with this one. It would be interesting it they announced Ultimatum next (though very doubtful). :P

I have a theory

I believe the Ultimate Universe and mainstream Marvel Universe will merge. Cause a change to crucial events in the past. I believe this as in Secret Wars Miles Morales is in the picture.

Secondly there's is a event called end of Ultimate Universe my theory is an incursion type event will cause a merger between the two universe causing alterations to some characters not a reboot so much more of a "edit

Wait, maybe I'm an idiot for asking this but, why are a lot of these old stories from decades ago? Are they rebooting them, retelling them or what?? Why are they rehashing them?

Time travel!

Marvel just had this as part of its Twis Week in Marvel Ultimate Reading Club. No wonder.

Still think characters are being picked out from all of these events to star in secret wars. I don't think there is much more to it than that.

The Original Future imperfect was a excellent story, im pissed because i can't find both of them anywhere, but im still curious as to what all this is about with bringing back these old stories summer of 2015...

I have a feeling all this is not leading up to a Marvel reboot. Because that would be silly. Maybe some of them are going to be What IF type stories, like Planet Hulk with Captain America or Age of Ultron VS Marvel Zombies? Some look like full on new events, like The End or Inhumans Rising. And some could go either way like Years of Future Past.

There's no reason to think this is all connected though.

I was super sad when Doc Green didn't have a beard in New Avengers. He could have looked like a non bald version of Maestro with black hair since Doc Green is kind of a precursor to Maestro.

Wow! I did not see this one coming on the list of events Marvel is bringing back. Though to be fair, who could?

I'm most excited about this one. Maestro is one of my favorite characters.

Perhaps, but it just seems like they threw a TON of crazy stuff into that first image for it, and it was also the first "event" announced that uses a previous event's name.

My theory is that all these teasers have to do with the incursions that the Illuminati of 616 have been dealing with. This will all lead to the secret war including all these alternate universes and timelines against the Black Priests and Mapmakers.

@Bold that's pretty much what a comic book reboot is but publishers don't refer to them as Reboot, during the end of Crisis on Infinite Earth all the remaining Earths were merged after the Anti Monitors rampage, and history's were edited to adjust older characters from different universe in different time periods.

Oh it's not that i can't find a copy anywhere or even a digital copy for that matter. i actually own the books and bought them brand spanking new back in the 90s. im looking for MY copies lol

I agree with both of you. I think what were each individually speculating about is the degree of a possible re-boot. Is it a "Crisis"-like event where Marvel uses it as an opportunity to merge elements/characters from their different universes into one continuum and address continuity/time travel/deaths/rebirth issues that have come up? Or is it a "Flashpoint"-like event where they basically start everything back to issue #0?

I'm kind of hoping for the latter. I wasn't a huge DC reader before the New 52 (except following the Teen Titans regularly since the 80's), but having the opportunity to come in on the ground floor of their books has been really nice. I have a lot more DC titles in my monthly read list now, and I've even gone back to collect some of the back issues/stories in the 'old universe' because I've enjoyed the new stuff so much.

Although, I'm not blind to the challenges a complete re-boot for Marvel would present. Especially considering everything going on in their cinematic universe. But it's a nice thought experiment to ponder :)
