@the_mast: I'm sure there are people who grasp Hickman's Avengers and simply aren't into it, but this backlash is very telling. I've seen it happen with other high-concept pieces of work.
So, my summary is that most people don't like Hickman's Avengers because they're probably not smart enough. If that offends you then there's probably a reason for that. There's always been a trend where people feel offended if they don't get something. They blame the product, not themselves. Just like parents who blame video games, rather than actually putting effort into raising kids right.
Hickman's writing is not cluttered or poorly organised, it just requires YOU to put intellectual effort in. If you can do this and still dislike it, cool. Fair. Just don't sit there blaming the book because you can't raise your game. That's not Hickman's fault.
Infinity was a perfect start. It felt exciting even though it was a warm-up because Hickman has prepared us for exciting, non-action comic writing throughout N.A. This event will essentially be a cross between both. It's everything BUT cluttered and poorly planned.
