The whole convergence and secret war event is trash. All this event after an event, universe busting event one after another is annoying, why not just make comics for a good story and art? I hate how ppl complain about continuity, its unnecessary imagine if DC and Marvel just made epic stories like IMAGE ( the walking dead, saga ), IDW (TMNT), VALIANT (XO MANOWAR). all these fans complaining continuity doesn't or match up there, continuity restricts a writer's imagination

For now I'm staying away from the big two companies (vertigo is still good)

Sigh, nothing for me. At least DC and Image can keep me company.

Ant-Man

Daredevil

Infinity Gauntlet (hoping it is better than the first issue)

X-Men '92

I have started thinking the same way with Secret Wars that I did with Convergence. I can't wait for it to be over. So far the after books from Convergence have been solid.

A bunch of issues I might read in 6 months when they reach Marvel Unlimited. On the bright side, A-Force #2 is supposed to be out in 2 weeks...

@skyroid: It's one thing for someone to prefer story and art over continuity, but the reason Marvel/DC fans worry over it is because they're decades old SHARED universes. You missed the fact that Image has several independent universes (Walking Dead, Birthright, C.O.W.L., etc.), but also a shared universe between Invincible, Spawn, Savage Dragon, and some other Image superhero types.

Marvel and DC worry about continuity because the majority of their characters, story-related items, and various settings exist within a shared universe; sometimes even two, as evidenced by the Ultimate Marvel and DC's various Earths. Secret Wars is happening because Marvel wants a chance to take something old and familiar for the minority (fans who read the comics, people who've stuck with Marvel before they became a media powerhouse) and make it something everyone can pick up and feel comfortable with, without feeling left out because they don't know the characters well. It's actually really good.

@skyroid: i agree completely. Garth Ennis was railroaded into doing throwaway pop trash that restricts his imagination like Marvel's "Where Monsters Dwell". if only he was able to write what he wanted instead of something so commercial and continuity-bound. another victim of "the big two"...

If Garth Ennis wasn't interested he wouldn't be writing it.

yes, i was being sarcastic. i thought calling Where Monsters Dwell "throwaway pop trash", "commercial", and "continuity-bound" would have made that clear... Ennis writing something so off the beaten path for Marvel goes completely against skyroid's complaints because its clear that he has been given creative license

A lot of whiners in here this week, that I'm guessing haven't read a single issue of most of or all of these books.

Definitely getting Planet Hulk, Infinity Gauntlet, Punisher, and Where Monsters Dwell.

Is it just me or does Doctor Doom seem to be THE DUMBEST villain of all time. Not only will I make a world that I can control that still includes some of my worst enemies...how about I make a world full of multiple versions of my worst enemies...I can't see how this could ever go wrong for me. He's worse than Thanos for not wanting to actually win.
