Each week we post previews for the following week's Marvel Comics. They are on our Previews Forum but sometimes people forget to poke around there. Below you will find the covers to the Marvel Comics on sale 4/30/14.
Marvel Comics Previews: 4/30/14
Amazing Spider-Man...that's it.
All New X-Men's preview looked deep and that Origin mini series has been good as well, I'd recommend checking them out.
I think I will just let Spider-Man lay fallow for a while. I feel like we read these kinds of "Spider-Man has a new lease on life and is (virtually) back to square one!" stories before. Wasn't that the whole point of Brand New Day? I suppose that was a long time ago (relatively speaking), so maybe it is time we get those kinds of stories again. I don't know, I just adored the Superior run so much... This just feels like a paltry substitute.
I am trade waiting Silver Surfer and the Avengers books, so really, all I am getting is All New X-Men... And even then, it has been in a bit of a rut lately. I want to care more but I just don't. At least Uncanny has been amazing.
Looking at the preview of X-Force... What happened to the art? I initially didn't buy it because I was not a fan of that gritty realistic style. The preview is full on stylized cartoon (comparatively speaking). What is Marvel thinking swapping between such disparate styles? Strange.
Looking over the list again, looks like I will be getting Uncanny Avengers Annual. Gah, another title I want to care more about but don't. Hopefully this issue will rekindle my interest.
How has Wolverine been? i've only read the first 6 issues of the Marvel Now run (errr... Original Marvel Now run). Has it been any good?

no, brand new day was just dumb and unnecessary. spidey wasn't dead. the editor just didn't like the way spidey was headed so they gave him a needless retcon. i hated brand new day. peter was finally growing as a character and they brought him back to being a loser. hopefully spidey will get to keep some of his net toys and his company.
All new X-men any good after issue 7 ??..... (this is when i stopped reading)
Definitely.
All-New X-Men and Amazing Spider-Man for me.
:edit: Amazing Spider-Man is 5.99!?!? I might pass on it now
Definitely grabbing:
- Avengers A.I. #12
- Uncanny Avengers Annual #1
- X-Force #4
I was going to also grab All New X-Men #26, but then I realized that, astonishing art aside, there's not much to justify its spot on my pull list, so I've dropped it.
hmmm Spider-Man and Hulk were planned but if that's it i guess i'll be picking up some comics i haven't been picking up. Hello Wolverine,Avengers,X-Force and maybe Uncanny Avengers.
Just Amazing for me. I hope Slott can make me forget that Superior has ended. I'm gonna miss that book.
Amazing Spider-Man #1 is $5.99? Add $3.99 for All-New X-Men, and that's $10 for just 2 comics! I remember when I was complaining because they went up from 15 cents to 25 cents, but I'm getting old :). The new $3.99 price point is really going to cut down my comic collecting habit, though. The last few issues of All-New X-Men have been ..meh..., it's probably coming off my pull list. I'll probably just get Walking Dead, Avengers Undercover, Invincible and Uncanny X-Men every month from now on, unless the new ASM really is Amazing.
I'm getting Amazing Spider-Man #1 this month, just because I collected ASM all the way from issue #17 until the Mephisto retcon a few years back, and started back reading it again just prior to issue 700. (Yeah, I'm getting old) Prior to that, in the McFarlane era, Peter had actually moved forward with his life, he was married and had a baby on the way. I would have liked to see him juggling changing diapers, dealing with domestic life, a full-time job and being spider-man all at the same time. However, every time he grows up, some hack writer decides to put him right back into the same old rut so they can just rewrite the same things they've already done a dozen times before. At $3.99 per issue, it'll be hard to justify.
- Amazing Spider-Man
- All New X-Men
- Avengers
- Avengers World
- New Avengers
- Hulk
- Uncanny Avengers Annual
- Wolverine
- Silver Surfer
