Marvel Entertainment is excited to announce the addition of Charles Soule as series writer for INHUMAN beginning with an All-New Marvel NOW! #1.

Beginning this April, Charles will join superstar Joe Madureira (Avenging Spider-Man, Uncanny X-Men) to introduce the world to Marvel’s newest super hero franchise. Born out of the events of INFINITY and the blockbuster INHUMANITY #1, INHUMAN will change the landscape -- and the fate -- of the entire Marvel Universe.

"Years ago, young(er) Charles made up a list of Marvel characters that would be a blast to someday write - my Marvel Dream Team, basically – and the Inhumans were on that list,” says Soule, “So getting an opportunity to work with those awesome, strange, classic characters, as well as to expand the existing mythology into cool new places is pretty extraordinary. INFINITY and INHUMANITY work as amazing springboards to new stories and new characters, and I cannot wait to create them!”

“As soon as I read Charles’ first Thunderbolts script, I knew he was going to be a star,” says Marvel Editor in Chief, Axel Alonso. “His pitch for She-Hulk proved that he thought big and would bring a lot to the world-building of INHUMAN.”

Don’t miss the incredible first issue of INHUMAN this April!

Am I missing something...I thought Fraction was writing this series. Or am I completely wrong in that...?

Charles Soule is a great writer , but what happened with Fraction?

#3 Edited by iceslick (796 posts) - - Show Bio

@g_man: God damn! How many more books can this guy write? I love his writing though, I'm reading every single book he writes. It looks like I might be adding this and She-Hulk to my Charles Soule list. I think he's writing like 7 or 8 books. lol

Nope, that was the plan at least

*makes loud farting noise* Go to hell, Soule.

#8 Posted by Dabee (2399 posts) - - Show Bio

So now he's writing Red Lanterns, Superman/Wonder Woman, Swamp Thing, Thunderbolts, She-Hulk, AND Inhuman? Isn't he also a lawyer on the side? I'm starting to think Charles Soule is a wizard of some sort... there's no other explanation as to how he would have time for all of this.

Hmmm *raises eyebrow* Dare I mention that Fraction quit FF to write Inhuman? What happened?

I wonder if Soule will be dropping something soon. How can he maintain 6-7 books a month, that's crazy. I'm also looking forward to his She Hulk run.

@themantisshrimp: Maybe he'll do us all a favor and drop Red Lanterns since he's making the title as horrible as possible.

He's writing Letter 44 too.

Good, i can't stand Fraction

Soule must be a Cyborg or something. He's writing basically everything for both Marvel and DC AND is practicing law.

Wow... Well now it looks like this is getting added to my pull list for sure

WTF? CHARLES SOule writing ANOTHER book? O_o

Him and Bendis are machines.

#21 Posted by Maddpanda531 (1113 posts) - - Show Bio

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Fraction left FF to write Inhuman...and he's not even doing it anymore?

Don't get me wrong, I love Soule as much as the next guy, but I'm just really confused. Like, when did Fraction leave Inhuman?

#22 Edited by TheMantisShrimp (258 posts) - - Show Bio

@joygirl, critics seem to have responded fairly well to his Red Lantern run. I can't comment on it though as I am not reading it. Out of all the books he is writing I would also guess if he decides to drop one it would be Red Lanterns.

#23 Posted by Squares (7696 posts) - - Show Bio

If Charles Soule is anywhere as talented as Jeremy Soule, this should be an interesting series.

Also, is anyone else excited about the apparent return of The Hood?

#24 Posted by longbowhunter (7347 posts) - - Show Bio

Charles Soule, busiest man in comics.

#25 Posted by Joygirl (20064 posts) - - Show Bio

@themantisshrimp: I don't give a damn what the critics think. If they say he's doing a good job then their heads are obviously so far up their own asses they can't see past his reputation. 0.2% of comic readers actually know ANYTHING about the Red Lanterns, less know everything, and Soule has made it clear that he knows absolutely nothing. His run has been a hateful mockery of everything I held dear about the characters and mythos and I want to choke him to death every time I even consider the fact that he's getting paid to write it.

#26 Posted by MatKrenz (1234 posts) - - Show Bio

@joygirl: Death threats to a human being over a comic book. Nice.

#27 Posted by PapiNacho (2939 posts) - - Show Bio

Hopefully his quality doesn't drop because I've been enjoying all the books written by him that I read.

#28 Posted by Joygirl (20064 posts) - - Show Bio

@matkrenz: That wasn't a death threat. I said I WANTED to strangle him, not that I was planning to.

#30 Posted by MatKrenz (1234 posts) - - Show Bio

@joygirl: Thats still violence towards a human being over writing a comic book that you do not enjoy. Which is still incredibly smart.

#31 Posted by Cap10nate (2481 posts) - - Show Bio

I have really enjoyed his Swamp Thing so far. Looking forward for what he has in store.

Alex Mercer is finally getting another comic. Lol. I just want Red Lanterns and Swamp Thing to continue being good. The more books Soule takes on the more concerned I become with an overall drop in quality.

I just want someone to explain the system to me. How a book can get as close to publication as solicits -- complete with a promotional campaign -- and then have a creative team change prior to a first issue. Does that mean that whatever Fraction wrote will just never see the light of day? Or that an unwritten book was being promoted vigorously? Or what?

I just added this to my pull and it's already being changed. That worries me about Marvel's actual knowledge of what they're doing with the title.

#37 Posted by iceslick (796 posts) - - Show Bio

@dabee: That's what I was saying and surprising they are all good! I can't wait to see how good can She-Hulk or Inhumans can be compared to his other books.

#38 Posted by dauntes_patron (70 posts) - - Show Bio

My only concern with Charles writing this book is that he'll stop writing Thunderbolts. Thunderbolts is my favorite book right now thanks to him, I was really close to dropping it before he got on.

His reputation? He's only become well known recently from what I know, and even now, Superman/Wonder Woman is his first grade A title, and Inhuman will be his next.

You need to take a deep breath and think a little about how important one man writing 5 issues of a comic franchise you enjoy is. If you don't like it then stop reading it... Don't get so worked up you lose your @#$% and spew hatred towards everyone you come in contact with. The world doesn't revolve around you unfortunately.

Your name is very misleading as well, just saying.

As long as he's still on She-Hulk and Supes/WW, then I'm good with this and will consider picking up Inhumans now. Great replacement for Fraction but still would've love to read Fraction's writing on this series.

How are sales on his other books. Is something getting close to cancelled? I don't see how he can write this many books at once.

Wow....you need to get a grip.

I've been a fan of the Red Lanterns since they debuted, and I have to say, I love what Soule is doing. He's made Guy Gardener and the rest of the Reds all that more interesting.

I'm going with @hawkguy, that comment is lacking in the joy department.

I like Soule and all, but I feel like Marvel is doing Fraction wrong. This series was his idea after all.

#46 Posted by sparty-dbq (822 posts) - - Show Bio

So is he completely rewriting the story of this book, or is he still going to go by Fraction's script?

Isn't he writing swamp thing?

That may be a more concise approach to what I am wondering.

Either way, my interest in this book has take a significant turn to the south since this little shake-up.

@squares: I thought that was him but I wasn't sure. Well at least now he has his own powers. I'll definitely be keeping up with this book if he's in it.
