Haden Blackman is the New ELEKTRA Writer

Marvel Entertainment is excited to announce the addition of Haden Blackman as series writer for Elektra beginning with an All-New Marvel NOW! #1.

On shelves this April, the perilous and dangerous adventures of Elektra Natchios – simply known by her enigmatic moniker of Elektra – will be orchestrated by critically acclaimed writer Haden Blackman (Batwoman). Previously announced with Zeb Wells writing the series, Haden is prepared to take Elektra down the dangerous paths of the Marvel Universe.

“I’m extremely excited about this series,” says Blackman. “Elektra is a complex character who is still searching for her identity and purpose. My goal is to put Elektra into new situations facing terrifying enemies and hard moral choices she hasn’t encountered before. All the while exploring her evolving motives and personality.”

Series Editor Sana Amanat teases, “Elektra sets off on a treacherous trek through the far corners of the Marvel Universe on a mission of salvation. For the first time in her life she must protect instead of kill—in the hopes of finally expelling the demons that have terrorized her for so long.”

Blackman seems a better fit than Wells anyway.

I've never cared to much for Electra, but Mike del Mundo doing interior art is difficult to pass.

This is an excellent creative team for Elektra. My expectations for this just went up.

No, it's one of the two who WAS doing Batwoman back when everyone loved it.

I was really looking forward to seeing Zeb cut loose and do something awesome. Darn that Robot Chicken show and its reliable pay check!

what's so enigmatic aboout the name Elektra? she's greek and its greek for bright one. also is the name of a character from greek lore though it has been anglolized into electra its the same name and meaning.

not familiar with the writer, im more concerned withe artist. del mundo does some interesting covers dont know how it will translate into actual panels. his style is more suited to covers as its more like painting. what's adam hughes doing these days?

It won't, the same way Thunderbolts was never mentioned in the Venom book.

It's definitely possible.

I mean,I don't think that Elektra is bad. I guess it's just a matter of who's on who's side.

What happened to Zeb Wells? I was looking forward to him writing this.

As for Blackman, I don`t know until I`ve read something from him.
