The more time that passes, the more discrepancies we see between Peter Parker and Doctor Octopus. The biggest differences between these two are their respective perspectives on crime-fighting and how far each might go when pushed to their limits. Check out the preview below and let us know if you are looking forward to picking up the issue. SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #4 hits stores on February 20th, 2013.

SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #4

Written by Dan Slott

Art and cover by: Giuseppe Camuncoli

Variant Cover by Mike Deodato

“Collateral Damage”

The previous Spider-Man promised that Massacre would never kill again...

Q: Can the NEW Spider-Man live up to that?

A: Probably not.

It's such a creepy and brilliant idea. Like the nano-spider tracers.

this new spiderman is very dark, and that great.

Did anyone else see the plate on that guys' head and think of this?:

#8 Posted by TheCheeseStabber (8160 posts) - - Show Bio

Looks cool

Though if he's so well superior and does all these things so easily and people just give up

I find it hard to figure out any long term story thats gonna launch out of these stories or a major villain, he beats them so easy.

I'm thinking this is a step up from Stegman's art. Love it.

The art in this issue looks great compared tho the previous ones

#11 Posted by JMLG (135 posts) - - Show Bio

bout damn time Spider-Man series have good art and Peter (or Otto, w/e) doesnt look like a kid

#12 Posted by AWeekInGeekdom (230 posts) - - Show Bio

I thought Ryan would draw the first five? Either way it looks great :) Great to have Camuncoli again!

#13 Posted by LordRequiem (1323 posts) - - Show Bio

The artwork is really good, but Massacre is quite possibly the lamest villain I have ever seen.

#14 Posted by Mucklefluga (2609 posts) - - Show Bio

Oooooohhh Doc is starting to hear Pete more. TENSE STUFF.

#15 Posted by skyjumpermike (148 posts) - - Show Bio

I like Otto as Spider-Man. I really like the preview of Avengers #6 with Superior Spider-Man in it too.

#16 Posted by mightypug78 (358 posts) - - Show Bio

yep, this comic book is named the superior spiderman for a good reason.

#17 Posted by Fetts (4518 posts) - - Show Bio

Anybody else thinks he looks a tad too chunky?

#18 Posted by RedheadedAtrocitus (6885 posts) - - Show Bio

Those robo-spiders are awesome, but I love especially how Petey is mind-screwing with Otto every step of the way.

Sometimes SpOck is awesome, sometimes he's kinda a dick. Still not sure how much I like him.

The Spiderbots do remind me of this old gem

Superior spidey is awesome so far

I do as well. Thought it was pretty jarring. Besides, I actually loved Stegman's art (which is apparently the minority opinion.)

Anybody else see the robo-spiders back firing on him? Maybe goin haywire or gettin hacked into? Then he'd have to deal with all the cute little bastards

#26 Posted by JakeN7 (12807 posts) - - Show Bio

@haydenclaireheroes: Agreed

Now thats all I see, the plate and the turtle neck styled collar.

This series is getting better. Feels like its taking a while, maybe because of all the talk about it all over.

@Fantasgasmic: Lol Priceless

because the main character is a douchebag with a superiority complex?

As someone who has hijacked a few previous threads complaining about this series, I think it's only fair that I say this issue actually looks pretty good.

#32 Posted by TheUncanny (146 posts) - - Show Bio

Nice. Can't wait to pick this issue up, though I sort of liked the original cover more

Spidey is looking beafy these days. Ock's been hitting the buffet a little too hard these days or what?

#36 Posted by Barkley (276 posts) - - Show Bio

I'm left wondering if I'm going to find Otto interesting once the Superior Spider-Man run is over, or if it's only him "being" Peter that's making him interesting.

Every issue and panel I see Otto as Spidey makes me like this whole idea a lot more.... gawd I'm dreading the day Parker takes it back.

I don't want him to hear Peter. I would like for Peter to talk as little as possible, to give Doc Ock some development as Spiderman. Like #3, I liked it because Peter wasn't in it as much and you see Ock have some morals.

Well he hasn't beaten any major villians yet. He is basically making fools of the B's and C's of the bad guy/girl world.

I know right? especially how it pisses him off when someone uses or abuses kids. I think that is a great dynamic to play on. cause he was abused as a child.
