Whatever happened to that He-Man book that James Robinson was doing and then wasn't doing and then fell off of the face of the earth?

It was a six-issue mini. Giffen finished it after Robinson left.

I'm excited for this, I mean it was thanks to the 2002 series I've became a fan so I've been ready to get some more He-Man media.

That 2002 remake on Cartoon Network was legit. Shame it got canceled so fast.

Hm. Decapitation and children getting eviscerated. Safe to say, this is not a book you're going to buy for your kids.

That's what a new He-Man book needs IMHO. Adult related themes and content.

Looks good.

@StMichalofWilson: That was a great show. One of Cartoon Networks' best ever.

the 2002 he-man was awesome. I will be picking this up for sure, Giffen doing good on threshold

"After the defeat of Skeletor." So will he not be in the new ongoing?

#30 Posted by Loki2u (208 posts) - - Show Bio

I believe the Origin of Hordak is being released in April as well as a One-Shot

#31 Posted by ltbrd (561 posts) - - Show Bio

the last mini-series was awesome though I wish the battle with Skeletor had been expanded just a bit but it will be nice to see all the Masters back in the next series.......but really excited to see how the big reveal in issue 6 continues to play out.

liked the fact that the Masters and the King knew Adam and He-Man were the same. Always thought the character was being limited by the dual identity aspect of a standard superhero and its nice to see a change of pace and how people respond to him as a result.

I knew of that. I'm talking a new show, much like what they did with the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja (CGI) Turtles.

#33 Posted by ltbrd (561 posts) - - Show Bio

also did anyone else notice that the sword Teela was using in issue 6 was a near exact match to She-Ra's sword? not to mention the fact that she rode into battle on a gold unicorn? or that she was dressed near the same as He-Man?

coincidence or was Teela the guardian of She-Ra's sword and familiar as she wasn't in Eternia to receive them?

So is Hordak a girl now or is that Aurora?

for everyone wondering

Hordak is NOT a girl, he is definitely male

The one in the previews above is Adora aka She-ra Aka Despara, you can tell by her mask and armor she's wearing, that she's has in the image below.

And if you take a look at the issue 1 solicit the cover shows the same as well.

• First exciting issue of the new, ongoing adventures of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!
• While the Masters of the Universe mourn the loss of a fallen friend, Hordak infiltrates Eternia!
• Featuring the return of She-Ra! Now known as Despara, the most lethal weapon in Hordak’s army, she returns to Eternia as He-Man’s newest enemy!

As extra proof here is

Adora Aka She-ra Aka Despara

Hordak, although might not be his true form in this reboot of the series

Hey all, I've decided to edit the OP to avoid any talk of gender. Sorry for the confusion, that was in a bit of info I received about the preview. Thanks to @animehunter: for presenting me with a lot of evidence in a PM.

First off I just want to say thanks for comicvine for showcasing this series, for those who are into Terry Dodson, They are doing a 1st issue variant for She-ra fans. check it out.

@inferiorego: lol don't be mean. its bad enough this series get that sort of treatment.

Second.

@animehunter: @muhabba: Its ADORA.

Does anyone else think that they are playing Hordak much like Darkseid? There is no dreams or freedom there is only Hordak and the Horde Empire. lol

#39 Edited by animehunter (1793 posts) - - Show Bio

@Trodorne: Thanks for pointing out my mistake regarding her name, I can't believe I forgot her actual name.

Where was my head?

#40 Posted by Inner_Demon (1744 posts) - - Show Bio

@Trodorne:

I enjoyed the recent miniseries, as well as the origins for Skeletor and He-Man that DC has done. So far, it looks like they're definitely taking the franchise in a new direction, while still attempting to preserve the core of what made me love it back in the 80s.
