The first issue of the new FANTASTIC FOUR series is out this week. Hopefully you had a chance to check out what Matt Fraction and Mark Bagley have planned for us. Without giving too much away, the team is ready to go off on a big adventure. If that's the case, who's going to watch over things in their absence? If you've seen any of the covers or images for FF, you have an idea.

Marvel has given us a first look at the second issue, on sale next month.

Marvel is pleased to present your first look at Fantastic Four #2, continuing the all-new ongoing series from the blockbuster creative team of writer Matt Fraction and artist Mark Bagley! As the Fantastic Family leave time and space behind, what new discoveries will they witness not only in their adventures but in themselves? How long can Reed keep secret his true reasons for wanting to leave Earth? And will Reed be able to find what he is looking for before time runs out?

Fans and critics agree, Fantastic Four is a smash hit!
“An exciting new beginning for Marvel’s First Family!” – Joey Esposito, IGN.com

How competitive could Jen and Ben really get? Doesn't Thing way outclass Shulky in terms of strength?

The first issue was SO GOOD! Is this a bi-weekly book?

@Gonzo33: Don't think so, it says on sale 12/12/2012, so monthly. But this first story arc does continue from issue 1 in FF #1, I think it'll be this way for a couple of issues and then the two titles will do their own things once the original Fantastic Four are off on their trip, it's just to set up the reason for the the two books.

@gjary: Yeah, I really dislike seeing the cash-grab this early. But I guess this will help me give FF a chance. Had no intention of buying it, but I guess I will now to see how this all shakes out. Working as intended no doubt.

Actually I think Jen is stronger than Ben.

This looks like it'd be a fun issue, seeing the Fantastic Four hanging out with their temps from over @FF.

My favorite part was how G-Man quoted the article quoting him.

Oh really? I always thought Ben was the stronger.

@Gonzo33: I think it's just one issue a month. Which is much easier on the wallet...

So this issue connects with the all new FF....cool.

not a fan of the new uniforms, i can respect their decision to make them look a little oldschool but its just not for me, and the new FFs uniforms are uuuuugly

Jen and Ben! Wait, that sounds way too familiar...just who is stronger? Hmmm hard to say but it might be Jen, but I can't say that with certainty.

in the scan on this page she hulk presses a machine one handed that was set to the things maximum level. also she was wearing a suit that may have been dampening her strength at the time

Are Jen and Ben flirting? Because I can get behind that ship (they're names even rhyme! )

What is that thing that Ant Man uses to move around??

Wow Ant Man and She Hulk? Medusa? What, Tigra not around? Thundra maybe? No thank you.

I did not like where Fraction picked up in FF #1. It's a little too on the nose with Reed's issue (don't want to spoil) and Franklin's mommy issues. Also, not to mention they're turning Johnny's ship into a TARDIS from the sound of things. It's a little to much shaking things up when they were already shook up pretty darn good on Hickman's watch.

The whole point of Marvel NOW was to shake things up regardless of previous shake ups. IMHO.

It's been established that Jen is stronger than Ben (though the degree to which varies between writers); though in that scan she's wearing the Jupiter suit which is designed to control the "additional" strength she attained after intense weight training in her Jen Walters form.
