First Look: Daredevil Teams Up With The New Spider-Man In DAREDEVIL #22 - Comic Book Preview

This January we'll not only have a new Spectacular Spider-Man, but we'll also be seeing him team up with Daredevil in DAREDEVIL #22. In this upcoming issue by writer Mark Waid and illustrated by Chris Samnee we'll see the the two come together for a case when Stilt-Man returns with some help from Doctor Octopus. What will happen? Is this Doctor Octopus, or is it still Peter Parker? Check out the preview for the upcoming issue which hist on January 16th, 2013, below.

I don't know that much about Spiderman, especially not this new one, but why does he have claws?

I'm not saying agree with me but I hated the art in Hawkeye when I first saw it but it definitely grew on me and has become one of my favorite new styles. I've never cared for Daredevil but I've suddenly sparked an interest in him, so I'm excited for this.

@SmashBrawler I love the art. I'm really curious about what kind of art you like best? A lot of people seem to not like this kind of colorful art (Aja, Samnee, etc).

Looks like it isn't Peter or else Matt wouldn't have attacked him? That could be a clue its definitely not Peter.

@G_Money_Christmas: Part of the new design. The symbols are different, he has the points on the elbow, his feet are like ninja tabi, his mask's lenses are different, etc. Also the suit's black and red (like the first appearance Spidey).

@slvr4surfer: I love lots of different kinds of art, the list would be long and I would be editing it all the time :P

I actually like Aja's work, reminds me of Mazzucchelli. I don't like Samnee's tough. I don't know why, really. Just not my cup of tea.

Hmm Why would Superior Spider-Man go see Matt Murdock?? Is it Peter with new abilities? Otto being Spider-man in Peter's body giving off a different vibe? Or is it like the Reign of Superman when Cyborg Superman & The Eradicator claimed to be Superman but ended up being someone else entirely? This preview alone brings up more questions.

Thought just came to me: Since this Superior Spider-Man is showing up in different books like Daredevil, JIM, Is the Superior Spider-Man going to destroy The Amazing Spider-Man's reputation and trash his relationships with his Superhero friends?

Something tells me I should cherish 700 for as long as I can, cuz I'm not sure I'm gonna like Superior's direction. I really hope it is still Peter or, at the bare minimum, Ben Reilly making an out of nowhere comeback.

They keep promoting Superior Spiderman like if he's definitely going to be someone new. I honestly doubt it though... still slight chance it's Be, Smythe, or Otto (+)

With Daredevil being all happy-go-lucky and firing off quips and Spider-Man goning all dark and grim it's like they'v swapped tones/styles..... and thats stupid as hell

New costume. Tribute to his first costume that was also black and blue. Bad coloring made it blue and it change to that over time. Kind of the same with Hulk was turn into be green since you could not make a good gray color at time for some weird reason.

@Jonny_Anonymous: As far as I know Spider-Man had a pretty dark period when he was in his black suit.

Again that was still just a story arc, it was never meant to last but this is the actual status quo, so much so that they changed the name of the book. Anyways I have no problem with Superior Spider-Man, infact it looks pretty interesting however I think current Daredevil is a steaming pile of crap

@Jonny_Anonymous: You call a period of four years a story act? I think you don't know how many people complain about spidey's black costume. DD will become Dark again, spidey will be cheerful again. It is not unheard of characters get a change here and there to get some fresh storytelling.

@tupiaz: THANK YOU! As much as I loved Matt in his dark and brooding days that would make Batman blush, I think having Matt try to move on be happy for once makes sense. He went through hell and wants to try and make his life better, it makes sense for him to be a bit happier. I think we'll see that change as time goes on though. As for Superior Spider-man, I cannot wait. I'll buy the first issue and see whats there.

It can't be Peter. Peter would not attack Matt. Also, Peter can't be Doc Ock for the same exact reason. Otto must be back in his body and all healed up.

@tupiaz: I've always had a fascination with corny/goofy silver-age villains, don't know why just always loved them. Another favorite lame Spidey villain of mine is The Spot :P
