First Look: DAREDEVIL #1

Daredevil's back!!!!! But doesn't Blindspot look a tad like Gambit? That's cool since he is one of my favorite X-Men.

Unfortunately since this confirmed what I pretty much figured, that's not Gambit with Daredevil I'm out. There's just too many books right now, it looks awesome but, gotta make cuts. I'll pick it up as a replacement if some of the other series start to tank.

Not sure how I feel about the art. Still excited to read Soules take on daredevil.

Hopefully they'll be able to follow up Waid's awesome run well. Looks solid so far.

I love how Daredevil has a sidekick now, I don't know why. I just feels it adds more to him.

@dedpool: Yeah, the black really makes DD look more intimidating.

The black costume looks cool to me but I'm wondering about the logo. Is there some symbolism I'm missing on the wispy D? Is it sideways fire, or a crown?

Already preordered issues #1 & 2. Art looks great.

I hate the new costume design. There was nothing wrong with the "Simply Red" costume. The only interesting thing is how they will work in the sidekick. What happened to Foggy?

@kaspercole: certainly nothing was wrong with it, but I like the new one also. I just don't like the shape of the dd. the spikes on it are dorky

Daredevil's partner looks like Gambit.

It's only in that cover, he actually doesn't in the book.

He wears a full body suit and a mask.

I never got into Dare Devil (except for the Netfilx series). He always seemed incomplete to me, but now seeing him with a partner peeked my interest. He might have always been a Batman without a Robin or a Captain America without a Bucky type character in my opinion. I will definitely give it a try.

Art looks dope!

I loved was sad to see Waid/Samnee's run end, but this looks like it's going to be pretty great.

@immolation: c'mon. Pull your head out of your rump, we all know how…. Disney wants everything back to square one so that it doesn't conflict with their netflix series and makes everything nice and neat for movies, etc… Every hero should have mouse ears at this point (or will at some point). I don't think we'll ever get a reasonable backstory for the 8 month absence.

I enjoyed Waid's series, but I will give this one a shot, though.

Some thoughts:

• I loved Waid's DD. But I am glad they don't follow the same formula with this. Waid managed to make it work because it was his vision.
• The art looks REALLY good. Frank Miller-ish on purpose. Especially that DD close up.
• Soule is a writer that I don't know if he is good or not. I guess we will see.
• While the costume isn't bad, there are some things that truly bug me, like the chin-guard and the belt being connected to the leg-thingies.

Man,if I could I'd throw a parade.So Glad to move past Waiddevil.
