ALL-NEW X-MEN has been one of my favorite new Marvel Now! titles. I've gone on and on about it before so I'll spare you from listening to more praise about this book. There's just something fascinating about the young X-Men from the past interacting in the current Marvel Universe. And things are about to get even more interesting.

Marvel has released a first look for issue #9, which marks the return of Stuart Immonen on art. Check out what's coming up in March.

Marvel is pleased to present your first look at All-New X-Men #9, from the critically acclaimed creative team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Stuart Immonen! Hot on the heels of the Uncanny X-Men facing Sentinels in their first issue, the All-New X-Men find themselves face-to-face with Sentinels for the very first time. Something is boiling under the surface of the Marvel Universe! Also, Mystique continues to make some big moves that will have huge circumstances for the X-Men.

An all-new direction! All-new threats! All-new consequences! This is All-New X-Men #9!

ALL-NEW X-MEN #9 (JAN130676)

Who's Jean Gary? ;)

I love this story and i love this art, i'm just afraid of how it'll all end. I mean the young x-men have to forget what has happened somehow.

Immonen's art is painfully beautiful. This series has been soooo good, Bendis chattiness withstanding.

That art is gorgeous. I love Marte Gracia's colors. He seems to be on of the hardest working colorists at Marvel right now. He's working on:

...and the titles just keep coming, but his colors always make the other art pop.

Mystique..the unkillable.

@Overlander: so that's why novas art looks similar to all new x-men.

I cannot put into words how much I love this series. One of my favourites of Marvel Now too. Hope Bendis keeps this quality up. Oh and definitely Danger Room- just look at Kitty leaving them to it, It's part of their ongoing training. XD

Love the art !!!!!!!!!!

This is one of my favourite series at the moment, but I just got to wondering, would it still be as good without Immonen's art?

#22 Posted by cameron83 (6708 posts) - - Show Bio

just asking, but are there different types of sentinels....are there also small, human sized ones.

Because some of them seem like small, sentry drones, and the building sized ones must be the regular ones from what I've seen.Because those are the types of sentinels I see everywhere. And one of them has multiple faces

It is interesting. After Demon Wolverine apparently killed her, her body was taken right away and given to what I assume was the group that is backing the new brotherhood and the omega clan (First seen in Deadpool's comic I think).

I had actually assumed this Mystique was a clone or brainwashed or something. Does anyone know if there's a comic that shows what happened to mystique between her fight with wolverine and her appearance in Uncanny X-Force.

@Trevel8182: it's gotta be Danger Room. I don't Kitty would be standing there with her arms crossed if it were real

I really love how this series is written and having a great art is just a huge bonus!! but why they dont still have new costumes yet!?

#30 Posted by ssj2DeadPool (213 posts) - - Show Bio

I looked at the first page and thought, how can they be out in public like that wearing x-men uniforms, then boom sentinels, awesome.

Lolz.

Alright, I'm honestly not the biggest fan of this series AT ALL. However I do love the artwork :) It makes me smile and it makes the book bearable to read. However the dialogue is horrendous and needs to get better ASAP.

#32 Posted by VinnyWeapons (39 posts) - - Show Bio

How many faces does that sentinel need? He's being greedy with that many.

#33 Posted by RuinedGlory (29 posts) - - Show Bio

Ten bucks it's all in the Danger Room. Get fans going, "OH MY GOD NOT NEW YORK!" Then boom it's a simulation & they're training. Of course.

#34 Posted by DJ1107 (243 posts) - - Show Bio

@RuinedGlory:

I don't see why fans would be shocked. Marvel's New York gets eradicated on a daily basis. World War Hulk, Secret Invasion, Fear itself, The Fantastic Four story: Forever, The Avengers movie

Me neither.

I was reading the subheading, and I got this funny thought.

"Stuart Immonen returns as Mystique"

Wouldn't this be an interesting read?

Doesn't count. New X-Men became X-Men Legacy and New X-Men is so far and beyond anything else published in an X-Men title that it's unfair to call it one.

Therefore, X-Men Legacy supersedes name as well. Though Rogueneto does bring it down some.

X-Factor as well. I like X-Factor.

@FadeToBlackBolt: Just sayin' X-related books don't have to suck. :P

I have high hopes for the just plain X-Men book, although I know getting hyped is a bad idea.

Bendis doesn't automatically have to be terrible and he's actually doing pretty well considering who he is. I don't think he'll do excellent at all, but I don't think he'll be the worst writer ever either.

I mean I'm a fan of his street level stuff and I thought a bit of the New Avengers was actually pretty good so I'm a bit biased for him, but I think he can do good here.

Although really is there anywhere to go but up after AvX?

beautiful! Loving this series, one of the best Marvel Now! titles, not even a hint of disney meddling in it unlike other titles like ironman, Secret Avengers and GOG

Probably because Fox does the X-Men movies.

Danger Room because there is no way Dazzler is big on Broadway, Kraven is on billboards and spidey too, Stark is advertising laptops (that's so last decade, Resilient is pushing tablets by now) and the FF got into the real estate business

Also because Kitty is just kinda standing there watching.

While I'm on the fence with Bendis, he has really outdone himself with this series. I hope that it continues for a long time as the X-Men universe as a whole has suffered too long due to bad plots and poor editorial decisions.
