First Look: 3-Page Unlettered WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN #3 Preview

Regenesis continues with the third issue of WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN #3, due to hit stores on December 21st -- just in time for the holidays. The third issue will mark the end of the book's first arc, and Quentin Quire (who clearly can't stand Logan) might be the only hope for the X-MEN against the new Hellfire Club.

Marvel has released a 3-page, unlettered preview of the upcoming issue earlier today, and from the looks of it it seems that Quentin will have to take on some pretty crazy monsters. Chris Bachalo illustrates the third issue, and Jason Aaron weaves a story about young mutants fighting big, bad, scary monsters. Check out the preview to the third issue below. Interesting, so it looks like the School Inspectors were Sauron and a Wendigo? Odd.

Which is why I like this title. Aaron has proven he can write really strong emotional and engaging stuff in Wolverine, and now he's writing the completely insane brilliance I love to read in Hulk and Wolverine & the X-Men. Aces..

I think I'm dropping after this issue. It's just not my cup of tea. And I absolutely hate Kid Omega.

Just what i wanted, Idie and Broo to have some interaction. This is looking fabulous.

I think the first issue was ok.. But I don't see why most ppl are in love this book. The art work is funny looking the first is was just plain cheesy. And ppl are bashing Uncanny like its crap. Hope this book picks up or its off my pull list

Sucks that this will be Bachalo's last issue as far as I know. Issue 4 and 5 has got Nick Bradshit who draws everyone like a f-ing child. He even draws Wolverine like a child. Marvel, please get rid of this guy and bring back Bachalo!

I don't know, Babs. I have to wait and see if Marvel can pull the strings. If that is they don't cancel this series.

@NXH: I think Marvel is rotating artists arc to arc. He should be back for the 3rd arc. Marvel seem to be doing this with a lot of there larger titles lately.

This art is fucking terrible, I won't be buying this until I see art that looks like it wasn't done by a 14 year old in the back of his math notebook.

Huh, interesting. The art doesn't look the best, but the hooker to me is the funny stuff spraypainted about Logan. I might check this out...

Agreed. I also hate Nick Bradshaw. People that were complaining about Bachalo are going to wish he never left.

third issue? did the second one even come out yet?

I really loved the first issue and the looks of this third issue. Will have to see how long I will stick with this.

On that cover, he looks like he huffed that paint can after spraying the wall.

This is not the type of art i would of put on a big book like this. Bachalo's style is unique and a lot of people don't like it. It's the type of art you have in a book less popular so the people who actually like the style can buy it. This is exactly what happened with the avengers when Romita Jr was on it.

I wholeheartedly disagree. I think Bachalo's style compliments the weird, off-beat, quirky, kookiness of WATXM perfectly.

If he's the guy who did the four part team roster covers, he draws all women like they are pugs. Some of his other stuff seems fine (when I type his name into google images), though cartoony in the way Bachalo haters can't seem to stand, and utterly lacking in the compositional creativity, dramatic sense of shape and line, or attention gesture that Bachalo brings.

Wait... so Bachalo is leaving after issue 3? Wolverine and the X-Men is like among the last of the Marvel titles I was really looking forward to, but if Bachalo leaves... I don't know. I really don't know.

I'm with you on this. I'm not fond of the Hellfire Toddlers either and were really hoping they would be and in and out.
