Exclusive: X-MEN #16 & UNCANNY X-MEN #23 'Guardians of the Galaxy' Variant Covers

As the Guardians of the Galaxy prepare to become movie stars, Marvel is helping them get ready for all the attention in the spotlight by featuring variant covers with the team and characters. Marvel has given us an exclusive first look at a couple of the covers that will be rolling out in July.

Are the Guardians even going to be in these issues or is this just to promote the movie, and 50 issue milestone. Have they hit 50 yet? It's got to be close if they count DnA and some of the tie in issues that still have the name Guardians on the cover.

Both covers are awesome, but the Uncanny X-Men variant kicks ass. Rocket looks badass and Groot looks imposing. Art Adams, as always is da man. It seems as the years go by, he gets even better, and he's always been one of the best. I'd buy this for the cover alone, regardless of what's inside, and that is something I rarely say.

I have a feeling Thanos is going to get downplayed in this like in Avengers Assemble...

That's not the same. I want variants on my comixology comics.

They are doing so instead of having a horrible movie banner on top of every issue for months.They had their 100th anniversary issue a few months ago.

I know they had a 100th anniversary issue for the entire Guardians of the Galaxy roster, including the classic team, I was talking about 50 issues of the new team.

I kind of like that they are doing that instead of banners on every issue. Plus the art on both of those issues looks great!

They look pretty sick, especially the one with Rocket and Groot.
