Exclusive: SUPERMAN/WONDER WOMAN #1 Variant Covers

By now most people reading comics are aware that Superman and Wonder Woman are dating. A lot of focus and attention was placed on their kiss back in JUSTICE LEAGUE #12. These two do have some things in common in the New 52 and it will be interesting to see what Charles Soule and Tony Daniel have planned for the two. Not everyone in the DC Universe is happy to see the two together. Also, will this pick up after the events of Trinity War?

Today, DC has revealed the variant covers to the first issue.

There will be a black-and-white version of the Tony Daniel cover:

There will be one by Aaron Kuder:

And, in a fitting manner, Cliff Chiang will also provide a variant cover:

If you haven't already expressed interest with your local comic shop, you might want to do so ASAP to find out if they are getting any and if anyone has already called dibs on them.

@themanintheshoe: As much as I would LOVE a GL/Flash book (I've gone on and on about that on the podcast and even in the review for the annual), this would definitely sell more.

Kind of cool to see some of the WW characters drawn by other artists, but not sure if I like the idea of Superman and Wonder Woman together still.

I Still think that Daniels cover is the best, but that's not to say that the other 2 aren't as beutiffully depicted. They are. but it just seems that in the other 2 Wonder Woman is made to look much smaller (and not just in her stature) than superman and therefore less important.

As for trying to get DC to make a trinity book (or them playing around with the trinity characters) what they'd need to do next is publish a Wonder Woman/Batman book (with WW as the top billing and Bt's as the second name) to explore the relationship that these 2 have with one and other, as it seems that they're relationship is more hostility towards one and other.

I'm going into this series with an open mind. Soule is a great writer, and I have utmost faith in him. I've already pre-ordered the book at my LCS. I get the feeling this will be better than Batman/Superman which, despite great efforts, is a bit of a trainwreck.

I was actually on the fence about buying this, but one look at that Tony Daniel cover...wow! I'll check this out.

I actually find it amusing that Tony Daniel is the only artist whose rendition of H'el I don't find to look ridiculous.

I don't really care to read the series, but if I can find it, I might get the Cliff Chiang variant just to have.

Whats up with the negativity towards this series?!?!? I think its an awesome idea to explore thelove relationship of those two in its own series.

Ill be getting this. When does it come out? I want to make sure I give proper notice before all these people complaining about this buy them out. As for the covers, mr kuder is the one i like best. Wished Gillium March could have also done one since he is very good at drawing intimate scenes.

I do think this series is pointless and I wouldn't mind it being canned. But damn, that Cliff Chiang variant is gorgeous. Love his art style so much.

Those variants are pretty dang awesome! Kuder the Superman artist drawing them in a Wonder Woman setting while Chiang the Wonder Woman artist drew the pair in a Superman setting. Very cool

Because the last Trinity book sucked eggs and we don't need more Batgod on us.

Hey, maybe this series actually does something with the fact Superman and Wonder Woman are together. I don't expect them to be happy or get married, this is DC after all.

No interest in this book (I totally second that theoretical GL/Flash comic) but that Chiang cover is aces.

I hate to be a party pooper and not get into the hype/hate over a Superman/Wonder Woman title but I'm looking forward to it. The whole Superman and Lois Lane couple is kind of old - NOT to say it isn't good, I have no problem with it - I'm just looking forward to a title between these two, could be interesting.

Plus it is Tony Daniel so I'm expecting some decent+ artwork, especially of Superman, I rate him highly as a Superman new 52 artist so I hope he doesn't let me down.

Why so much hate for this book? I really don't understand why everyone doesn't like Superman and WonderWoman together. I may not be that big into DC or Superman or WonderWoman but I did read the issue where they talk and have that flying kiss. It was sweet and actually kind of made sense. I get it that people want Clark and Lois together and to be fair I thought that too but after reading JL 12, I'm actually intrigued by this and want to see how it turns out.

I have a proposal to everyone: Relax. Chill out for a sec. Buy the first issue or even the first 3 issues and try it out. If you don't like it, drop it.

I think we get so bogged down by "Oh this was canon" and "Oh but its how its always been" and we are so damn quick to dismiss that we lose sight of the goal. The goal is to entertain and the goal of The New 52 was to bring in new readers and tell stories that were fun, different, and exciting. We all grew up with Lois and Clark and we always knew that was the ultimate comic book couple next to MJ and Peter Parker. I say lets see this through. Lets have some fun and see if Superman/Clark Kent can fall in love with someone else for once. Even Peter had a Gwen, a Carlie, a Felicia, and now its time for Clark to have that string of lovers. Maybe down the road Diana and Clark will break up and fall out of love and thats when Clark and Lois come up again.

So lets cool our jets. Lets sit and watch and read and figure out what DC has planned. If you go in expecting it to suck, its going to suck. Just try to have an open mind and just try to enjoy it. If you aren't capable, don't buy it and please don't bash people that will enjoy it. Also, don't threaten the writer and artist because you don't like it. Just sit back and let the numbers run and let the creative team do their job.

Wow gorgeous. All 3 covers!!!! I am so on board with this couple. I was never interested in any DC's romances to the point I got into the source material. Never found any ultimate or interesting as this one. This is the one got me spending money!

The Aaron Kuder one has some...uh...ample....um....breasts.
