Last month we saw Ales Kot first issue of SUICIDE SQUAD. He's back for more and he's ready to shake things up for the Squad. Turns out they've finally reached their limit with Amanda Waller. Is there any way this could possibly go well?

Between all the Suicide Squad members,you'd think they could disarm the neck devices and take over or just escape.

Damn. A hand to hand between Deadshot and Unknown Soldier would have been awesome! I love both those guys. I'm also wondering why this book isn't in my pull list. "Stands up. Walks down to the comic book store"

Reads very well. Now I'm even more interested reading Kot's run.

I think Waller being so unlikeable is part of the character.

Wow that was a really fun read for a preview.

It is. I completely understand who she is and such, but I'm just saying that I despise her and she's a big reason I haven't been able to get behind Suicide Squad or JLA. I get why people like the series but it rubs me the wrong way that the "good guys" use blackmail and death threats to get things done. It'd be one thing if some villain had captured them all and were doing this, but the idea of the government strapping a bomb to its citizens' throats -- even criminals -- and forcing them to do things is just really repulsive to me.

@akbogert: I agree I stopped a while ago reading this because I COULDN'T STAND HER. Maybe, now is the time to come back. (I know it was a bad reason to leave)

I really like Harley's psychoanalyzing Waller. Perhaps I'll start picking up Suicide Squad again.

I used to read Unknown Soldier as a kid,years ago,the neck bombs remind me of The Running Man.

Yeah, she kind of makes the book in a way.

I will say though, that as much as I hate the premise, I did go ahead and buy the most recent issue and it's definitely enjoyable. So long as the book doesn't get too grim I could probably put up with the blackmail thing, but overall I do get the sense that this just isn't a book I can stick with long term.

Hope Harley kills her.

Last issue was my first endeavor into the New 52 Suicide Squad. Liked it a lot. I'll be picking this up next week.

Is the last issue a good jumping on point? I really like the idea of Suicide Squad, but I was just never able to put it on my pull list. (Various reasons, nothing to do with its quality. I loved what little I read.)

DeadShot Vs Unknown Soldier and Harley Quinn Vs Amanda Waller? Where did I put my wallet. But seriously this looks like a great issue and It looks like Ales Kot will have a great series on his hands.

I guess that's one way you could look at it. But I never got that impression about Waller while reading this book. These are people who have done great horrors against humanity-- serial killers and mass murderers and hardened criminals-- who, probably would've received the death penalty. If they were petty thieves or jay walkers, then I'd agree.

@dabee: I've read the Squad from the 80's but never the current stuff. I didn't have any trouble getting into last issue. I think it's a good jumping on point.

Am I the only one who loves Harley psycho analyzing Waller? I dunno, this is one of those things that really makes me love new 52 Harley.

Yeah, last issue was a good starting point because it was actually the first issue of a new creative team, a very good one at that.

Yeah, I actually have to say that New 52 Harley is a much more interesting character. She's a lot more independent of the Joker than I remember her being pre-Flashpoint. Its awesome.

Yeah its as good of time as any.

@zeeguy91: I found the Harley in Gotham City Sirens to be pretty independent from Joker (Well other for the story were she was going to kill him). I still am not fond of the new 52 look for Harley but I think Kot has a much better understanding of the deadly/fun and playful balance of Harley then Glass did.

I started on the last issue. I plan to buy this one. I guess I'd say yes.
