I liked the first issue. The art doesn't really bother me, it has a Mike Allred vibe going. It may not be some's cup of tea.
Exclusive Preview: SHE-HULK #2
@teerack: things will end up more sexist if she hulk beco es conservative.
Look I agree with you about DC, but some characters are slutty, She Hulk, Namor and Hercules should not have to cover up it goes against their character. red She Hulk has never appear slutty, more angry and cunning she shouldn't be seen in a thong it doesn't make sense to. Same goes for most female characters.
But if you push to hard, we will end up in a world where men are expected to be buff and run around in mothing but a thong and maybe a loincloth if they are lucky, but women can slob around in a hoody and baggy pants.
All I am asking for is equality not some crazy world where all men are hyper manly but effinate man meat and all women are Dominiring suit clad betters. Just let characters have different personalities, have some men be stupid muscley guys in tiny pants and some men be skinny smart guys in suits and lab coats and make sure women have just the same variety as the men. Now I'm not saying she hulk should run round in a chainmail micro bikini, just that her underware should be sexy, she's always on the pull and her superhero costume should be a traditional leotard bathing suit or underware because that's who she is. To add shorts just seems to make her appear to be worried what other people thing and that's nonsense, not that I get annoyed when I see it, I just consider it out of character, as much as I now look at Ms Marvels costume as out of character for Carol Danvers a professional military pilot.
Anyway to agree with you here is an image of Hal Jordan if he had found the starsapire ring, DC should totally learn from this and have a comic where he and Jillian pearlman swap rings .... And with it costumes, to show how ridiculous it is

And to disagree with you here is Herc, to show Marvel don't mind about the state of undress of some omits male heros and they are sure confident about it, surely the same issue should work with she hulk as their personalities are so similar... But now days I'm sure plenty of readers would take offence.

@viin: always been the case, fear used to change Jen into the she hulk, the new comic refers to this fact, as such Jen prefers being the She Hulk, but the NOW reboot suggests she can change between all her former forms, So Jen, Sensational, Savage and Incredible? (Aka the Grey She-Hulk)
I. The #1 she seems to go from sensational to savage and back, which I think is clever and would work well in a movie. Can she turn back into Jen? question is would she ever want to? Dan Slott dealt with that a lot. Maybe she will revert if she gets her ass kicked, or if she defends or fights Randell Jessup (Indestructable Hulk 19) that's if She Has any cross overs? That would be kinda cool.
@akindoodle: Well, Schiti's drawing Jen right now in Mighty Avengers, so there ya go.

HE'S ON MIGHTY AVENGERS?! OMFG!!! I thought that was Greg Land this whole time.... I need to keep up. Thanks!
@hillbillymorangie: Red She Hulk has never been slutty? HA! The first two years she was Red She Hulk she went back and forth from wearing a one piece bathing suit and S&M outfits. I can not believe you're trying to make the argument that booties shorts are going too far appose to panties. Think of it this way. When you think of a woman in real life that is like she hulk and wants to show off would she walk down the street in panties or a super short pair of shorts?
@teerack: you have missed the point, in Incredible Hulks Red She Hulks personality hasn't appeared slutty, her clothes are and I'm saying that's wrong. But she hulks always been portrayed as swimsuit model, her personality fits what she's wearing.... Now if you have her switching back and forth to Jen Walters it makes sense to have a mixture of costumes some more Jen and some more she hulk...but otherwise it shouldn't matter if she ran about naked especially in savage form... Artists should pander to the character and not the audience it makes things more realistic. But whatever, got stuff to do today.

Red She Hulk and everything about her character was meant to be a woman with all of her inhibitions gone. It's actually something that she has said her self in comic and her creative team said outside of the comic. When Red She-Hulk transformed she loses her inhibitions it part of her transformation. So the statement that it makes more sense for Jen to dress slutty then Betty is actually 100% wrong. A woman in her mid 30s walking around in panties isn't realistic.
@teerack: ill make this the last comment I make on the subject, it's turning into trolling.
Red She Hulk ... all Hulks,... Have their inhibitions taken, (See Sensational She Hulk #19) also none of them age at a normal rate, they have healing factor, so saying she is in her mid 30s is unrealistic, on another note I'm in my mid 30s it is very realistic how young are you? You have a depressing life ahead of you if you think you get old overnight I have been out with plenty of women in their mid 30s that look better then women in their early 20s... Anyway...
The point is a Gamma Heros personality and form reflect their inner self (she hulk #15) for she hulk that's the body of a swimsuit model the confidence to dress the part. She loves shopping and partying and seducing men, women like that do not dress sensibly. Now shorts are fine as long as it doesn't appear to be because she's being conservative, if they are fashionable fine.
In the case of red she hulk, I've not read any of her solo runs, only where she appears in incredible hulks so maybe your right, but it doesn't make sense to me for her to be vampish.
Anyway like I say I'm not going to argue here, if you want to then start a relevant thread and ill comment there.
@hillbillymorangie: I actually already changed my mind earlier but not because of anything you said.
This kind of made me realize I was being dumb.
Personally I just like the shorts and find the one piece bathing suit lame and extremely outdated. That's just it personal taste.
People have moaned a lot about the artwork, but do they like it more or less then Mark Mayhew and Rick Burchett, who got quite a bit of stick at the time for their she hulks... Comics have a habit of jumping artists anyway, so ill just give it time.
@Teerak interesting images, personally I don't think characters should be politicised, they should just have a believable character about them.
The art in this book is perfect!!!
I really just don't understand how so many people could be so down on the art in this book, to me it's gorgeous and an absolutely perfect fit for a She-Hulk comic.
Obviously I'm as biased as anyone when it comes to aesthetics, and I'm just a huge fan of Javier Pulido ever since seeing his work in Hawkeye. For me it recalls the work of Jaime Hernandez in it's smooth, clear line work; it depicts the figures as both attractive and distinct, giving the characters the heroic proportions befitting the genre but without ever objectifying them. All of which is not only super refreshing for a mainstream comic, but thematically appropriate for She-Hulk specifically.
I know it's largely a matter of personal taste with such things, not everything's for everyone, I get that. But as someone who's studied art criticism for over a decade and been reading comics for almost three, I can usually at least understand why someone would or wouldn't like a particular artist's style. Reading through the comments in this thread, I'm just baffled as to what the basis of these criticisms are; I just really don't get it.
