If you've been reading SHADOWMAN or have read it in the past, you're probably aware that Master Darque is one character you wouldn't want to mess with. It's surprising that after all his appearances, we've never seen his full origin. Until now.

On May 1, his story will be told in SHADOWMAN #0. His origin will be divided into four chapters, each by a different artist. Valiant has given us an exclusive preview for the issue, featuring art from the Roberto De La Torre portion.

SHADOWMAN #0

Written by JUSTIN JORDAN

Art by ROBERTO DE LA TORRE, MICO SUAYAN, LEWIS LAROSA AND NEIL EDWARDS

For hundreds of years the Shadowmen have guarded our world from the horrors of the nightmare realm known as the Deadside and opposed the mysterious sorcerer known only as Master Darque. Should Darque make his way to Earth, all life as we know it could cease to exist. But who is Master Darque? Where did he come from? And does current Shadowman Jack Boniface have any hope of defeating this seemingly unstoppable force?

waaay cool. This a great continuation from the 90's series, and done much better so far. With shadowman, x-o, harbinger...............where is solar?

@cosmicallyaware1: Solar, Turok, and Magus: Robot Fighter were Gold Key characters before they were with the old Valiant and were bought up by Dark Horse. They are not part of the new Valiant.

Here you go:

Dark Horse's Doctor Solar mini series from 2010-11; then cancelled.

This looks sick!

The new Valiant is simply brilliant! They may just have a handful of titles but they're all high-quality comic books. From Archer to X-O... I love Valiant!

Master Darque is Valiant's most powerful villain if not its most powerful being period. I will be excited to check this out. And is it me, or are do the babies look not entirely inspired from Children of the Corn? I just got that vibe totally just now.
