Exclusive Preview: RED LANTERNS #11

Miguel Sepulveda continues his run as the new artist on RED LANTERNS with Peter Milligan. Last issue the surviving members of the Red Lantern Corps made their way to Zamaron to find out what the Star Sapphires had to do with the poisoning of the Red Power Lantern. With all the rage they have, you know it's not going to be a friendly visit. From the cover you can see that Bleez and Fatality will be having a girl fight. And check out which member of the GL Corps is putting in an appearance as well.

This just annoys me really. I chose to read Green Lantern New Guardians because I liked the concept of a team with members from each corps but now they keep having adventures in other books. Kyle had a crossover with Blue Beetle, Munk had a crossover with Green Lantern and now Fatality is having a crossover with the Red Lanterns.

Is this series any good?

Now they are advertising for the Batman movie on the cover of their comics? Waste of advertising space. We're all going to watch it anyway.

Never read any of these so I can't comment on the quality but it does amaze me that this book is still going, just seemed unlikely

Agreed, it feels like they are using GLNG as a way to bolster a sagging title. I don't know if I'm gonna get this, on one hand these kind of tactics leave a bad taste in my mouth, on the other I'm enjoying GLNG and I don't want to miss something important to the story line plus Bleez is awesome. So conflicted...

When animality, babality and friendship show up I give these books a chance!

Honestly, I don't see the point of Red Lanterns, just incorporate the stories into New Guardians.

you know what i actually like this series, but i think this shouldve beebn released as a 12 issue maxiseries. kind of like "the shade" and it would have a strong build up to "the third army" event then it would stop. it doesnt make sense to have this corps as an ongoing series unless it has strong ties to the other green lantern titles and it barley does.

My enthusiasm to a T regarding this!

I wish Sepulveda was still on Stormwatch, I love his artwork so much.

I somewhat enjoyed the Red Lanterns but it will die when the fourth wave of the New 52 hits.

@IronAngelX: Why do you feel it will be canceled? It's selling almost 40,000 per month. That's pretty healthy for an unusual title like Red Lanterns.

@GrandHarrier: Really? I didn't know that. I admittedly spoke out of assumption. The only reason I assumed that is because everyone I talk to both online and in person seem to think the book is worthless. I defend it of course, I like seeing another side of the universe. If it should keep on trucking than great cause it is a fun read.

Couldn't tell you. The title certainly started off slow, but I personally feel it has been getting better with each issue, but that is just an opinion. And it is entirely possible it could still be canceled, see JLI being canceled despite selling 30k+ per month. But I have a feeling that as long as it continues to do as it is and as long as it ties into the greater "Lantern" story that seems to be being weaved, it'll likely still be around.

@GrandHarrier: Thanks for the website source, I had been trying to find something like this but couldn't. Well, you are right, it is selling pretty good. I was thrilled to see that Red Hood has over 40K...I get scared that people don't like him sometimes, once again, it is all vocal hate. But I love the character.

I want Ed Benes back on this title immediately. No one is better suited to illustrate a cat fight than he is.

Overall, I do enjoy this

It has some interesting characters and ideas, but it can drag at times

It's among the Top 55 best selling comics in the USA

This should be the sub title for Red Lanterns...RED LANTERNS: BECAUSE THEY ARE THE 90s (a time that so many of us comic readers LOVE/ lol). The book selling well is meaningless if it's horrible. Comic Readers would buy anything if it's related to something good, just because the core GL book kicks ass doesn't mean that you NEED to buy EVERY GL book under the sun. A MAJOR problem with comic readers is many of us DON'T KNOW WHEN TO STOP! It's engraved in many of us that if a comic becomes bad that we should just ride it out until it gets better because god forbid were missing 6 issues in a collection. Green Lantern readers often assume that they need to buy EVERY GL book just because were usually no more then a couple months away from the next GL event. Personally the reason why I don't like Red Lanterns is its just boring, and not to repeat other people complaints its REALLY redundant! everything in RED Lanterns thats useful information can be absorbed into New Guardians. Hell, what they should do is condense Red Lanterns into a back up behind other GL books if they believe in it so much. The book needs a focus, it NEEDS a villain, and it NEEDS TO GET RID OF THAT STUPID EARTH RED LANTERN WITH THE FLAMING HAIR

@Sekele: Aww man. They better not cancel Batwing. It is one of the best new U titles in my book. Right up there with the big names.

While I do enjoy the Red Lanterns, these are MUCH better

Don't understand all the hate. i really enjoy this book, as i do every GL book. i think it gives a look at another part of the universe without green lanterns this green lanterns that everywhere.

What about the other corps though? Maybe they should have the comic rotate between them?
