Week 2 of Villains Month will soon be here and in the next issue of GREEN LANTERN, it's time for Mongul to take the spotlight. Let's be honest, Mongul isn't the nicest guy around. And if he's coming with an all-new Warworld, you know things are going to get messed up.

Tan's art is wonderful! I love Warworld's depiction. But most importantly, Jim Starlin man! Absolutely LOVE that he's writing this!

Not getting this, but this makes me feel good about Justice League 3000's art now.

I am debating whether to get this or the Earth 2 Solomon Grundy. Suggestions?

Wow, this is a great looking book.

Not a fan of the headgear but the art itself looks nice. Don't want to spoil the story for myself though.

When I saw the Imperial probe droid in the first panel, I figured it was a one off reference for fun, but it looks like they're sticking with it? Is DC also owned by Disney now?

Definitely getting this. Jim Starlin on anything, especially cosmic, is bound to be awesome. Any cosmic villain book my Thanos' creator has no choice but to be awesome.

Also, I have a feeling that the foot in the bottom right corner is going to look pretty kick-ass (no pun intended) in 3D.

So, is this Mongul snr or jnr? in the DCN52U

#12 Posted by lifeboy (1675 posts) - - Show Bio

@thefirstlantern: get this first lantern, because it looks like mongo is being recast as a Green lanter villain and it looks like you follow the lanterns more closely that earth2. Also, the names of the creative team are unfamiliar so you get to see what the new blood brings to the DCuniverse. That is ofcourse unless you really, really want to know what happened to Soloman Grundy after the allen scott stranded him on the moon.... :/

Have DC forgotten that Mongul was chained up under the Sinestro Corps Battery in Green Lantern #5? Another continuity mix up for DC. Ah well at least Starlin will be able to write a good Mongul story.

Well, Mongul has a much needed wardrobe upgrade.

We can't really tell if that was Mongul under the Lantern battery and even if it was it could be either Mongul Sr or Jr and the other being used in this issue

The issue looks really nice and so far better than the Relic one.

Well, it's great to have Mongul back. But I was hoping that we'd get Jr instead of dear old dad.

I really wanted Mongul back as a Superman villain.

Mongol has four fingers now??

It's always been like that

@lifeboy Solomon Grundy was actually an Alan Scott villain originally. Earth 2 gl and Grundy are actually there original backgrounds.

#40 Posted by lifeboy (1675 posts) - - Show Bio

That's great information, thanks!

Then it's the cover that's incorrectly drawn, both Mongul Sr and Jr were drawn with 4 fingers
