I've thought about dropping this a few times, but just haven't been able to do it. It really is good. Can't wait to see how she handles Bane. Just look at that punch she's taking, gorgeous art too!

I love ya, Kate, but you'd better not be taking down Bane any time soon.

Batwoman is a title I haven't been reading regularly, but what I have read has been consistently great. I might just have to pick this up.

I've picked up bits & pieces of this book and hear that its pretty good.

One of my gripes with the few issue I did read, was the panels. The art is really nice but I felt that they were trying too hard to incorporate the art into the actual panel structure, which made a few pages kinda difficult to read.

#19 Posted by Smurfboy (480 posts) - - Show Bio

It's no way she'd dress like that in a cold weather. She could've got Frostbite easily.

It would be nice for me to start getting into Batwoman.

The issue will be even better with Bane in it.

@blkson: That's a big complaint of mine too. The often "over stylized" panel layouts have required me to study the page too much to make sure I'm reading in proper order.

Its actually why I've only picked up a few issues. I find it a l'il too difficult to read sometimes. Not knowing which panel that I'm suppose to read after the next gets annoying. Beautiful art though.

Because he's out of her league. Hell, he's currently out of Batman's league with his N52 upgrade. It stretches plausibility considerably.

Cool costume Bane, but I do hope he's there for more than just a fight scene .I dont think even the DEO could just drag the ruler of his own country all the way to Alaska like he's a common criminal. That part really bugs me. Eh I could just pretend that it's actually a simulation or robot. Though it is nice to see that the captions are acknowledging his abilities.Still I remain optimistic, this team did make Croc interesting and deadly after all.

Stronger and more durable by miles, she cant hurt him and he could kill her with one punch if he really wants. He's also faster and smarter Kate's gonna need really good or really bad writing to survive this encounter.

#27 Posted by End_Boss (735 posts) - - Show Bio

@entropy_aegis: Stronger? Yes. More durable? Debatable. Cut him off from his Venom and he's temporarily crippled at best, out of the fight completely at worst. And remember, Batwoman's suit isn't just a leotard. It's nanotube armor, capable of stopping bullets in their tracks by realigning on a molecular level (see: comic book science). I have no reason to believe that it couldn't do something similar to help absorb the shock of Bane's blows. It wouldn't be the first time Batwoman has tangoed with one of the Bat's rogues and won: she regularly dukes it out with Killer Croc and comes out on top.

A friendly Yeti who happens to be stronger than Bane will come to help.

Bane could also slip on a banana and get trapped beneath the ice forever.

Last not least, beware of the owl!

...

Nice preview and great art work as usual. Didn't expect anything less from Williams III and Co.

Go Kate!

He can squash a head just by squeezing it with one hand,no bullet proof suit can save her from that.He can survive falling off a cliff with minimal damage, and no Bane doesn't need venom heck the panels in this preview make that clear. Croc isn't Bane not even close, and in the last issue she barely beat Croc and had help to boot.

Batman's armor is tougher than that to the point that point-blank explosions don't do anything to it, and Bane still beat him silly. As for Croc, Kate fought him in the last issue of her series with help from Maggie and Bette, and he was still holding his own against all three of them at once; in fact, according to Croc the only reason he didn't kill Kate was because doing so would have caused a bunch of heroes to come hunting him and thus put his new family at risk.

Batman's armor is even better and the last time Bane and Batman fought in the New 52 Batman was being manhandled.Bane didn't have a problem with him and he won't have any problem with Kate even with this armor of hers.

Same here actually, I dropped this series a while ago, the art is TOO stylized. I find it taxing to read. Sometimes I read across the entire two pages when really I'm supposed to stop at the first page and go down, other times it's the opposite, the lack of set panels makes it tough. Also, her monologues used to be red on a black background...not the easiest to make out in low light rooms.

She's pretty tough and clever, plus she's got Hawkfire with her too. I could believe that there's some way to do it.

What's this upgrade though? I haven't read any New 52 Bane yet.

He's about 3 or 4 times stronger, tougher and faster than he used to be pre-52.

I think Batwoman is gonna whoop Bane's ass. Otherwise the comic would be over. Plus she's got a wedding to plan. She might go all bridezilla on him.

Re: Gail Simone Won't Be Writing Batgirl's Zero Year Tie-In

The other thing is that DC made some grand comment that "we didn't push Zero Year as a tie-in! The creators came to us saying the loved the idea and wanted to be involved!"

Yeah. The creators. Who you then toss off the book they said they were excited to write?

Can't have it both ways, Harras.

Also, I won't say that Batgirl has been absolutely brilliant. But let's face facts... We can never be sure, in any book, if we're getting the story the writer wanted to tell, or the one that they were forced to rewrite (or was rewritten for them) at the last minute. Since Gail has written some of my favorite comics before this New 52, I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. And it's not like this is anywhere near as crap as Teen Titans has been since issue #1.
