Red Sonja fans are being treated with a number of alternate takes of the She-Devil on top of the consistently satisfying on-going title. It's a good time to be a fan.

Has there ever been an attempt to bring Sonja into a modern day setting? I'm excited by the idea, but kind of disappointed that it won't be explored for a full run.

Sounds somewhat similar to this movie except that the scientist is evolving into different set of beings.

I didn't think so. But I am not a fan of the costume set nor crossovers in general so I may not be a good source of reference. =)
