I was initially not happy with the decison to place this in modern times, but the preview art and interviews with Liss have won me over. Cannot wait of this and The Shadow this Spring.

I like it! I love the laser sights making the web-pattern. And I've always wanted a modern take on a pul0p character.

I'm not a fan of the art.... The people looks a bit dead to me... (and I mean the ones who suppose to be living)

Looks like traces over photographs. Bit disappointed. The covers are great but I am sorry, it just looks like someone traced pictures. If I am wrong I apologize.

Wait. So the art is too realistic? Or do you think that the artist literally traced photographs?

I think if anything he used them for reference.

Could just be his style, no?

Yes, but he used reference more likely than not. Its not a bad thing, many many artists use reference.

I agree, I like a comic to maintain a comic book feel, and having a distinctive art style is the main way in which it does this. When artists try and imitate real life it takes away from the whole feel of the tale. It's technically good, but ultimately soulless.

The covers are awesome though, especially John Cassady's.

I think the art has a very surreal quality that'll fit the tone of the book really well. I'm excite for this, though I'll probably be waiting for a trade.

Sooo getting this in May, I'm so excited and ready for it. All I have to say is that they better have the Ross cover of this and Shadow when I go in two months to get these or I will be quite mad. They didn't last time at my LCS when I was still collecting Green Hornet and I was not happy to say the least!

@Kal'smahboi: I think whomever did the interior "art" did just that, traced over existing photographs. If that isn't the case, then by God the realism is incredible.

Either way it isn't to my liking. To each their own and if I my opinion isn't agreeable with some people, that does not make me a bad person. Just my opinion.

@Mad_Wolverine: I am of the same school of thought regarding comic book art. Don't get me wrong, realistic art is incredible if it is done the traditional way, but when people start using photographs and tracing over them or what have you, it detracts from the comic for me. I like a "comic book" feel to the art if that makes any sense.

I wasn't implying that. Not my favorite art either, but it's interesting.
