SQUADRON SUPREME is back on December 16. James Robinson and Leonard Kirk are bringing the team of survivors from different Earths together. Kirk is doing a separate character variant cover for each issue. Check them out below.

The Squadron Supreme -- comprising Hyperion (Avengers), Nighthawk (Supreme Power), Dr. Spectrum (the Great Society), Blur (DP7) and Power Princess -- are a team that doesn't ask permission or what the rules are. To them all that matters is the safety of Earth and if you stand in the way...that's your problem! Tell that to the Squadron's first target -- Namor, destroyer of Dr. Spectrum's homeworld, who will have to pay for his crimes...but at what cost to the people of Atlantis.

I am a happy comic reader. Squadron Supreme has been my favorite team/book since the early 80's and everything I have seen from what they are planning this book to be is great. I loved Squadron Sinisters Secret Wars tie-in and if this is any where near as good/better than mind blown.

If you haven't already read the 1985 mini-series you need to as it was one of (in my mind) best stories. It was Watchmen before watchmen and looked at heroes in a way no one else did.

I know nothing about this team or any of those characters, and i didn't picked up the Secret Wars tie-in (for that exact reason), but this looks promising...

Do you think it will be needed to have some knowledge of the team to understand the serie ?

Leonard Kirk may be one of the most under-rated artist in comics these days. His stuff is great.

no they have much different motivations, sensibilities and a whole different moral compass then the JLA

Having been a fan of this team back when they were bad guys in the original Defenders and Avengers books, I am looking forward to these new titles (Nighthawk, SS, etc. )
